Ralph's Famous Italian Ices — Restaurant in New York

Called this place at 3:30pm today to check if they had butter pecan and banana ice cream, the guy said they had butter pecan but their store does not receive the banana ice cream. I get there around 3:50pm and the girl at the register says they can't get to their ice cream because of a "flood". I asked her how long is it going to take so I can wait it out if it wasn't too long and the girl says "I'm not sure how long it's going to take". Now I'm irritated I've been looking for the butter pecan ice cream and now that I finally found it, drove all the way to the store just for them to tell me they "can't get to it". Not only that, the store is full of liars! I just called 20 minutes before I arrived yet they "never received a call" "the phone never rang" So who did I call? The president of the US? I spoke to a male, yet everyone was acting like they did not want to do their jobs. I told the girl the phone number I called and she goes "I don't even know if that's our number" How do you not know the number of the place you work at? I know you may not need a college degree to work here but I'm sure you must need a high...

Sadly the most dissapointing Ralph's visit. I usually visit the other locations, but was close to New Dorp so this seemed convenient. Here waa my experience...

1. Arrive to line by 1035 - 3-4 staff and only one at the window while the others clean for their closing at 11pm. (Maybe Im spoiled by the other locations, where they focus on customers as a priority and start cleaning at the time they actually close.)
2. There are 2 big dumpsters right near the ices windows and the strench was really uncomfortable. (this is just unfortunate bc I doubt they can control it.) 3)I bought 2 pints of ices and when I got home I realized they're like 2/3 filles with big air pockets. The Port Richmond and Vovtory Blvd locations have never done that.
3. the staff are completely indifferent, tired, bored, etc. The other locations, they're always friendly.

Enough for me to know I will never be returning here when there are more pleasant options AND places where I'll actually get the full...

This location is closed seasonally and currently being readied for its March Spring reopening. It has walk-up window only service of frozen desserts. Ralph's has a long history on Staten Island and was visited at its original Port Richmond location during my youth in the early 1950s. For those monitoring, there is a sugar-free selection as well. Go for the lemon ice with its small bits of pit, pith and lemon rind for a taste of original Italian flavor. Slendid!!! Be kind, feed the tip cup. It's adjacent to a bus stop I use daily and my Ralph's samplings are infrequent, but the yen is constant when mindful of dessert options.
