Ralph's is definitely a Staten Island staple. I've been coming here for years. While I've always had great experiences, I just wanted to point out something about the birthday cake creme ice which was always my go-to flavor along with chocolate fudge brownie. Recently, my mother ordered birthday cake and mentioned how it tasted different than it usually does, almost chemically. Just the other day I ordered birthday cake as well and noticed the exact same weird, chemical-like aftertaste. My boyfriend tasted it as well and also agreed that something was off. I was able to eat a few bites but it eventually got to a point where it was inedible. Luckily I had chocolate fudge brownie to make up for it. If this was a recipe change of any sort I sincerely hope it changes in the future as birthday cake is a popular, well-known flavor. I'm also not sure if this issue is only relevant to this location. Last night 2 members of my household became very ill after having Ralph's "Signature Sundaes!" I had the plain vanilla ice cream & was fine. My family members developed severe stomach pain, nauseousness & vomiting. Called to speak to inform owner & he couldn't be more hostile refused to understand what we were trying to tell him blamed it on what we had for dinner.. which was impossible because we all had the same thing to eat!.. He was nasty & defensive!! I will never again give thus establishment our business that we've been doing for years! Our intentions were to give him a courtesy call in case he got any other complaints.. anyone never again! Don't eat Ralph's...
