Ristretto Cafe — Restaurant in New York

Genuinely surprised by all of the good reviews. I’ve been here over 20+ times because I go to Pilates daily and it’s convenient to grab something. The coffee, is the worst coffee I’ve ever tried in my entire life I believe instant coffee is better than this. It’s literally brown water no matter how many times I ask for it to be stronger. The prices are ridiculous for quality, I get their chia seed over night oats, 11$ for the tiniest portion I’m shocked they even think this is okay to sell. The brunette barista needs a crash course in manners and social skills. She looks miserable and acts like she is doing you a favor by serving you. Today was the last straw. I was the only customer in line, everyone sitting down got their orders.. I ordered tea, that takes less than three seconds to pour in hot water and have me on my way…. I waited for 7 minutes as she went in the back to do something else… I had to physically ring the bell for her to come out and tell her I am in a rush and need my tea, she rolled her eyes, didn’t say a word and slowly proceeded to pour hot water in a cup for me. This is just unacceptable and my last time ever going there- even if it’s convenient- not worth to spend another penny in this establishment

I placed an order for an Easter cake for pickup between 6–7 PM. When I arrived, they told me it wasn’t ready yet because the oven was broken. Fine, things happen—but no one called or informed me in advance. If I hadn’t shown up, I wouldn’t have even known about the delay.

I explained that I had to leave for church by 10 PM and needed the cake for my Easter basket. They assured me it would be ready by 10 and even promised to deliver it to my house. Guess what? No one ever called, no one delivered anything, and I was left without the cake I had planned for.

Super unprofessional, especially for such an important holiday. If you’re going to take pre-orders for specific times, at the very least communicate with your customers when something goes wrong. Won’t be...

I finally decided to leave a review…. Every time I pass by the Ristretto Cafe I stop to get coffee with cake or a sandwich…What an amazing place ..! It’s a family owned cafe and the owners are very friendly, very polite and sincere. In my opinion they have the best coffee around and variety of caaaakes which are made by the owner of the cafe Mariana, I guarantee people never had such delicious cakes in their life..!!! They also have an amazing barista Alexandra who makes exceptionally delicious various coffee drinks…!!! To make the whole story short in order to realize it, you MUST visit...
