If waiting in line under the sun for your food for 40 minutes is your idea of fun, then this spot got you covered. Not only will you wait that long, but you will also stress out about where to sit, since the place is usually jam-packed, and there are no places to sit. Whenever someone leaves, everyone rushes to try and save the spot for themselves so they could find it when their food is finally ready, 35 minutes later. And if you thought that wasn't enough, this place is cash-only, and yes there is a fee and a line for the ATM as well. The kitchen is very inefficient: it uses a made-to-order strategy that is debatable since they constantly have a long line of people waiting. I am always amazed at how many people flock to this spot, despite it having terrible service. This business has figured that it could cut down on costs of having waiters, a kitchen chef, and using credit cards, and opted instead to outsource the cost and burden to the customer. And I don't blame them: when you have so many people swarming the place, it sounds like the right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't get it. I have heard good things about this place from several people. I biked out there last weekend and had two tacos, one was carne (beef) and the other was chorizo. Now, I lived in southern California for 5 years, I know how good Mexican street tacos can be. These tried to be like that--they really looked the part. But the beef taco was totally bland. I'm talking ultra boring. It tasted like the beef had not been seasoned at all. The chorizo taco was marginally better, it at least had some flavor, but it was still on the bland side. Maybe this was an off day? Maybe the new guy forgot to season the food? I don't know, but I was very surprised. I'll give it another chance the next time I'm out there, and if it's better, I'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's a fun place. We enjoy it. I had been there before with my son Jason Rupp. On Labor Day, I went with three other women to enjoy a reception for the art of the Women Surf Film Festival. Great atmosphere and food. I had a vegan taco plate I shared with friend Raquel. Also, I shared a perfect Pina colada with friend Suki Rae. I also liked my cold and refreshing watermelon š drink. We four danced (including friend Laurie) to the music of the DJ. Friendly place. Laurie and Raquel ordered and loved their Mexican-style corn š½ on the cob. Suki liked the fish taco with all the trimmings. You eat picnic-style. While it is not on the beach, this spot is worth visiting. Colorful art. All ages would...
