Sakura — Restaurant in New York

I never really write reviews but I'm actually pretty disappointed. I must say I will give them a high mark for the food it was delicious but definitely ultra epic fail for customer service. I bought food today and when I gave the man my credit card I handed it to him and he literally threw it across the table to return it to me. I understand that there is covid-19 going around but it would not hurt to place the card down and not throw it so that it wobbles nearly off the table and falls on the floor. Would you throw cash back at me?

During this time, people should be pleasant and kind to anyone who endorses their business and spend their hard-earned money anywhere because this is a time in history that is very fragile for small businesses. I was just surprised at the boldness of his rudeness and lack of respect. I never felt so disrespected in dining experience and I definitely have been limiting eating out due to the pandemic this made me regret spending my money for outside food. With that being said, I will never come to this particular location but I will have no problem going to another Sakura. He may not have liked the color of my skin, but the color of my money is green and it spends everywhere. 😉. I was nothing but pleasant during the entire interaction. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE OR OVER THE PHONE. They will take two plus hours to deliver your food because they are cheap and greedy and don’t want to hire more than one delivery guy.

On top of that the food quality had shot down since Covid. Go down a few more blocks to fernasia instead. Sakura is complete garbage now. Half the time they don’t pick up the phone when you call for an update about your food.

On top of all that, the delivery guy who delivers the food, puts my food on this dirty mat on his car floor and when I actually got it 2 and half hours later there was dirt and pebbles all on the bottom and I got it on my table when I place on top of it. All the cooked food was cold, not even room temperature, maybe the he had the ac blasting on it as well. Do not waste your money here. Save yourself the headache. They use to be very good and now...

went there today, had 2 special roll, unagi don with rice, udon soup, tuna pizza & kani salad. food was okay. I’ve had much better sushis in much more reasonable price. The server there looked very unwelcoming. long story short, we were charged 18% service fee for 2 adults & 1 child included in the bill. I’ve been to so many restaurants and never had a service fee (tip) for 2 people. i understand if we were a party of 6+. if i were given the choice to tip, i always leave a 20% minimum regardless.

and when i paid for the bill, i received another receipt with a section for tip and a pen, pretending like tip was not included. they didn't even notify me about the service fee beforehand. if you go here, look at your receipt carefully for all the charges. they trying to act slick. will not...
