Sohna Punjab Indian Restaurant, 117-10 Atlantic Avenue,Richmond Hill, Queens — Restaurant in New York

First I must say that I ’ve been a loyal customer to two locations of Sohna Punjab in Bellerose, NY for over 7 years and this location for 2-3 years. One evening at this location I placed a order and was told that it would be ready in 15-20 min. Within 10 minutes someone calls me back and tells me my order is ready. I hurried over to pick up the food and on the way there I asked for a order of butter chicken to be added to my order along with 2 Naans. The guy over the phone gave me a attitude and I asked if there was a problem he said “No, we will just charge extra for this”. I asked “extra for what? Add to my order?”. As the conversation continued I ended up telling him forget it I’m on the way to pick up my original order. He said “Thank you” and hung up. Within 5 min I pulled up to the restaurant and there was NO ONE in the restaurant. Two guys stood there just waiting for me to pick up my order. I could understand if they were busy or something but that wasn’t the case. Oh keep in mind I’m also 8 months pregnant. They didn’t apologize or give a reason as to why it was such a problem to add another entree to my order. I didn’t make it a problem nor did I address the situation, it was already late and I was hungry. I came home and sat down to eat my food and it tasted HORRIBLE/DISGUSTING!!!! I tried to eat it and after 3 bits I couldn’t take down the food. Now I thought it was just my tastebuds but as my family sat down and ate they also complained on how disgusting the food tasted. I didn’t want to call back or even go back at 11pm at night. From my experience I just thought I would explain myself thoroughly through a review and let the public know of this experience of mine. I have never had a problem with the Bellerose location but I have to say the customer service at this location is mediocre and unacceptable. I will NEVER recommend this Sohna Punjab to anyone nor will I ever return to order from them again!. They really need new mangagment! If there was a option for 0 stars trust me that’s how I...

Me and my family went to eat, unfortunately one of our worst dining experiences... We initially ordered appetizers which were decent and arrived around the time they told us. However, the problem started when we ordered our main meal. It took 2+ hrs from the time we ordered to receive our food... It was so long that by the time we were about to eat, we decided that it's better that we just pack and go home since we were so tired. Moreso, after getting home and opening the food, we realized that since they decided to poke holes in the container lids, a lot of oil had leaked and gotten spilled in the bag, staining places in our car, and some of our clothes.

Not to mention the food they gave us is 50% oil as is. It's incredibly unappetizing, not even making us feel like eating the food.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was also horrible for our experience. There was a large crowd of people sitting at another table and they were making so much noise and constantly yelling about their household lives and other topics while being really drunk making the wait time also incredibly uncomfortable. Even new people entering the restaurant while we were waiting started seeming uncomfortable and annoyed.

The plates also seemed a little dirty and not properly washed, so eating in them made me feel a bit uneasy. I had to personally wipe down a few small stains and marks on the plate when I received it.

Warning, warning, warning!!!!!!! I ordered food from this place using Doordash. I ordered 5 biyrani for a small party. I hate to talk about small businesses. However I think it is important for people to know the feedback and be aware of some of the things. I believe it might protect someone who wants to order and will love to have some biyrani. My main point after having food from this restaurant led to food poison not just one person but four different people. They could have killed. We were hungry didn’t look at the quality of the food until sometime when we realized how old this food was. The chicken taste like many days old. The rice were dry even after heating it up many times. This restaurant need to start looking at what they’re selling to their customers cause it might one day kill someone. I just wanted to let future customers know that be carful what you eat from this restaurant and restaurant please don’t forget the quality of the food just to make some extra dollar. You guys lucky I haven’t sued...
