Souvlaki Lady — Restaurant in New York

While researching places to visit, I noted a neighborly quality about the @souvlakilady in her interviews online. This observation proved to be more true than I anticipated.

As I caught a glimpse of her cart parked alongside the road, my mouth began to water at the prospect of my first taste of streetside souvlaki. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly dwindled when I realized she only accepted cash as payment.

While standing in utter defeat, I was sincerely touched when she decided to disregard my lack of cash and provide me a skewer at no cost. Let me tell you...it was sublime! Prior to that moment, I couldn't imagine a simple stick of pork could improve much beyond what I make at home, but I was wrong.

So grateful for my first experience with Greek generosity and hospitality - ευχαριστώ,...

This lady told my handicap mother to wake up lady just because my mom had medical problems hearing. How rude and disrespectful of you! Would you treat your mother the same way?? What a way to run a business. How dare you tell my mother wake up ! You wake the hell up and learn how to respect old people !

You won't be getting our money ever again ! The food was horrible too !! It was messy and the lettuce looked like throw up. I was going to vomit.

You have no manners and don't care about your customers, you need to learn how to be nice ...my mother did nothing wrong to you. This is the worse place in astoria. Your wasting your money and time. She was also very slow at our food so maybe you need to wake up and drink more coffee to be faster...

Cute little food truck in a very busy area, and with so many options around I’m glad I chose to stop here. There’s no seating (as expected with a truck), but the food makes up for it. The ladies running it are super nice, and even though there’s usually a small line, it moves quickly. They’re clearly popular — while I was waiting, I noticed a lot of Greek people coming by, which is always a great sign of authenticity. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving some fresh and tasty Greek street food! Definitely...
