I had a disappointing experience at the Starbucks location on Brighton Beach. While I usually receive my coffee promptly when ordering through the mobile app, this particular visit was subpar. I placed my order at 8:39 am, during a busy morning rush when many people are heading to work. I expected to see multiple baristas working to fulfill orders efficiently. However, there was only one staff member working, and with around 15 customers in the store, I ended up waiting for my coffee for 20 minutes. I had ordered a few minutes before arriving, anticipating that my coffee would be ready upon my arrival. Due to the understaffing, there was a long line of customers waiting to place orders and others waiting for their drinks. The lone employee was multitasking, taking orders, preparing drinks, and handling food orders. This situation is not ideal for a large company like Starbucks. I believe that during busy times, especially in the morning, there should be at least three employees working to ensure efficient service. As a result of the delay, I was late to work, which was frustrating. I hope that Starbucks can address this issue to improve customer satisfaction and ensure that such delays are avoided...
Read moreThis may sound hard to believe but this was actually my first trip to a Starbucks. I like those vanilla frapacinos you can buy in bodegas so I went in for a fresh one. I told the lady making my beverage this was my first time in a Starbucks so I'm not sure what to order but I want the thing I can buy in stores. She not only made it delicious but she upgraded the size of my drink for free. Also there was a man who was giving her a hard time and refused his drink and wanted something else. I offered to purchase the drink he didnt want so she didnt have to throw it out. She misunderstood me and made me a fresh one. When I explained I didnt want her to have to waste the drink she made she was so sorry but I wasnt upset at all for paying for the new drink. It was also super delicious. The manager overheard our conversation and gave me a gift card for $4 that said the next drink is on them which was super nice but unnecessary. I'm a plain guy. I like my $.75 coffee from the bodegas and always said it's crazy to pay those prices for coffee but I have to admit, everything was amazing and the staff was just as amazing. I might have joined the Starbucks bandwagon after my...
Read moreI was waiting to place an order and a young man was loudly discussing the previous day’s training and referring to it as “a waste of time that won’t change anything”. It was obvious by the way he was speaking to the staff that he was an off-duty employee. He also spoke disparagingly about the Brighton Beach neighborhood and repeatedly relayed a story to staff about a customer which he had provided service to the previous day. He was laughing about what a “princess” she was and mocking her. He then continued to speak with staff about how he was moving out of the neighborhood to “get away from these people and be in my own community”. Awful behavior to witness in a business which prides itself on diversity. The young lady who assisted me at the register was polite and didn’t get involved in this loud discussion with the rest of the “team”, but all of the other staff members participated in the conversation while they prepared beverages, making fun of policies and customers. It was a sad display of their disrespect for the community...
