Finally after a lot of tries & long travel I finally reached the new talk of the town lol. ! Now the question is was it all worth it, Oh yes, definitely! I didn't realize they have buffet every day, that was a pleasant surprise. It's been too long I had buffet. Altho I have realized I need a friend with me who eats good to try all the yummy items ! Next time ....! After some authentic Pakistani food I also tried firni ( rice pudding) one of my favorite dessert & it was yum! Then as a desi I can't end a meal without a cup of hot chai, so I tried the Kashmiri chai. It was my first time trying it & I am not a fan of it. But I know for a fact it's a delicacy from that region & I am happy for the chance of trying it. The service was great, would have been excellent but only one guy can't be taking care of everyone! I guss around evening time they have more people to help out. Hope at-least on the weekends they have extra help on lunch time . I also checked out the restroom , was specious & clean. Hope it stays this way in future! Thank you guys for an awesome experience, hope for the best. Keep up the great work. I have also added this business on Yelp, hope it helps this excellent accomplishment!

This place was a mess during the buffet time. The workers didn’t know what they were doing, everyone came in at once waiting and instead of doing first come first serve, they seat people who came in large parties. They kept saying wait time was “little bit” but we definitely waited for more than 30 minutes because we were only a party of 2. After we asked why they were seated first, the waiter said because they had “reservations” but that was not the case. The food was also mid. By the time we were seated most of the meat in the buffet was gone, only sauce. Some of the meat did not look fresh and had a smelly odor. They don’t promptly refill the food and the selection was very limited. Don’t believe the hype! There are better restaurants with better service.

We went for the breakfast buffet. Food is okay, but nothing I would go out of my way for. You have everything from Desi omelet, halwa, chanay, aloo salan, keema, nihari, biryani, puri, and paratha with chai and lassi. I only had the halwa, chanay, and puri. Tasted a bite of nihari which I did not care for too much - had a smell which I did not find appealing. Everything else was basic - you can make better at home. Service needs work. No one to greet you or help you get seated. Literally just walked in and grabbed a plate and sat down ourselves for the buffet. Atmosphere is nice, they've kept it clean with faux greenery on the walls and pakistani art wallpaper.

I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Sunshine Restaurant and felt compelled to share this for others to be aware. The treatment my family received during Ramadan was utterly disrespectful and unprofessional, and frankly, insulting. Last week, I called to reserve a spot for the Iftar buffet. The woman on the phone informed me they were fully booked Thursday through Sunday and would not accept walk-ins. When I asked when the next availability would be, I was told to call back after Sunday. After waiting, my brother called on Tuesday at 5 PM to make the reservation, and everything was confirmed for our family. We arrived at 7 PM, just in time for Iftar, only to be greeted with utter rudeness. The woman at the front desk, probably the same person who told us reservations were required, told us “You should have come earlier if you wanted a table” Not only was this statement completely unprofessional, but it was also a direct contradiction of the information we were given. How could we have possibly known? To make matters worse, both the female staff member and the male waiter were incredibly rude. The woman gave us a smirk and an eye roll, completely dismissing us, while the waiter simply told us to wait 10-15 minutes to see if a table became available—or leave if we weren’t willing to wait. No apology, no understanding, no empathy for the fact that we had been fasting all day. We rented a car specifically for this trip and traveled all the way from the other side of Queens, only to be lied to and disrespected. This behavior is unacceptable, especially from a Muslim-owned restaurant during Ramadan. The lack of basic respect and courtesy shown to us was shocking. We’ve dined at Sunshine Restaurant before and enjoyed the food, but this experience has completely ruined any goodwill we had. The people staff’s attitude, disorganization, and disrespect left us with a terrible impression that will be hard to forget. If Sunshine Restaurant values its customers, they will take this review seriously. But considering how poorly we were treated, it’s hard to...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review 1

On August 24, 2025, I visited Sunshine Restaurant (73-10 Northern Blvd, Queens, Jackson Heights) with my family. The environment was very clean, comfortable, and perfect for families.

The staff were extremely polite, always smiling, and very attentive. The service was excellent.

The taste of the food was amazing! Biryani, BBQ, Nihari, Qorma – everything tasted just like authentic Lahore flavors. The desserts were also fresh and delicious.

The best part is that the prices are very affordable. In New York, it’s really rare to find such great quality and variety at such low prices.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review 2

Sunshine Restaurant is the best desi buffet in Jackson Heights. 😍

✅ Taste just like Lahore’s restaurants ✅ Cheapest buffet rates ✅ Friendly and polite staff ✅ Peaceful and family-friendly environment

Come once, and you’ll want to return again and again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review 3

I always thought good desi buffets in New York are expensive, but Sunshine Restaurant proved me wrong.

The food was fresh, authentic Pakistani taste in every dish, and simply outstanding. The staff were very attentive and cooperative at all times.

The most amazing thing is that the prices are very low, yet the quality is top-notch. It’s the perfect place to come with family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review 4

Last night, I went to Sunshine Restaurant with my family, and it was an amazing experience.

The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the prices were very budget-friendly. The biryani and BBQ were outstanding.

The staff deserve special praise – very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review 5

I ate at Sunshine Restaurant, and it made my day! The food quality is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the prices are unbelievably low.

You get the real taste of Lahore here, right in New York. It’s the best place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying authentic...

I recently dined at this buffet and had an excellent experience, but I feel compelled to address an incident that occurred during my visit.

While enjoying our meal, a group of nine individuals seated nearby became unnecessarily rude and aggressive toward the staff. The waiter, who was simply doing their job, politely asked if they were finished so plates could be cleared—a standard practice in any buffet to ensure a smooth experience for all patrons. However, this group seemed determined to create a scene for no reason, disrupting the pleasant atmosphere.

As the situation escalated, I stepped in to try to diffuse the tension, as there were other families nearby who deserved to enjoy their meal without the commotion. Unfortunately, the group accused me of siding with the management, which wasn’t the case—I was merely trying to restore peace.

Through it all, the staff remained calm, professional, and composed despite being unfairly targeted. Their dedication to excellent service, even under challenging circumstances, was commendable.

The food was fresh, varied, and delicious, and the overall ambiance was great. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, and I applaud the team for maintaining such high standards of service. I highly recommend this buffet to anyone looking for quality food and a welcoming...
