Taco Express Mexican Grill — Restaurant in New York

I am very disgusted.

Portion size and customer service was ok. That does not however makeup for the uncooked chicken. This is the fourth or fifth time that we got from taco express and the honey chipotle chickens uncooked. My husband insists on coming here. Everytime I think they would get better. No they do not. Their chicken is not cut properly because the chicken pieces have a slimy texture with a layer of skin above it.

Maybe if they charred the chicken more and cooked it evenly this wouldn’t be a problem. It’s really upsetting that the good food they used to have, turned into this. Every bite I had of the chicken felt it was uncooked. It felt slimy in my mouth and when I did bite in, it was pink. You can not mistake the raw meat taste of it being chewy.

Thankfully, there is more options available in the halal Mexican market nearby. That actually cooks the chicken till it’s tasty and edible

*just checked reviews. It’s funny how this establishment has no care in the world about undercooked chicken. Definitely never coming back this solidified it. I threw away good food because this place cares about profit over quantity. To think I had you guys catered for my birthday. lol thank god their competition COOKS their meat. This place hits the spot every time ! Solid quality all around , from alll the food options to the drink options (every Jaritos known to man) Even the customer service is on point here ! Great staff serving great food- what more can you ask for?!? The ingredients are always nice and fresh as well- from the steak and chicken to the cilantro and queso ! Even better- they used to be open until 2am but now they’re open until 3am- it’s the perfect late night munchies spot! Don’t shy away if there’s a line because they are super fast and never mess up your order ! 10/10 would recommend this to even my most taco loving friends ( I have a friend who drives from LaGuardia Airport to get this food and we know a dozen other great taco spots way closer to them that are open just as late and they still choose to come here ! ) If you made it this far in the review just ask yourself- what more are you waiting for ?!? (No I wasn’t paid to write this but I love the food. I just bought a quesadilla im about to tear up before it gets cold. Get it while it’s hot !) So, we found this place in 2020 while doing Uber eat, because we were bored in the house. The food was finger licking and mouth dripping delicious 🤤. We recommend it to so many people and they totally agreed. Fast forward to now, their food has no taste and is straight up garbage. My husband gave up on them for quite some time now but, I kept giving them a another chance just to be disappointed over and over again. In order for them to improve their food they just keep getting worse each day. I realized over the last month they were working on customer service. When you enter almost all the employees standing behind the counter would greet you with a smile and the cashier would thank you and wish you a nice day. Maybe they’re trying to bring more sales in, but customer service is not the problem the taste of the food has decreased drastically since we discovered them in 2020. To management please work on getting better chef to prepare the food so, we can enjoy our meals again. For now I will put my visits to your store on hold because I’m just wasting money.
