WORST customer service and packaging ever!!! I ordered 25 lbs of Fafda for an event and talked to the owner (Indra) and her son multiple times to confirm how they will pack the boxes. They assured me that they ship all over US and pack the fafda very well with aluminium tray, plastic wrap and bubble wrap. They even charged me more for packaging because of the order size and all the packaging that they were going to do supposedly. Come to find out, when I received the fafda, 30% of them were destroyed. More astonishing is that there is no bubble wrap!!! When I called them and told them that 30% of the fafda are destroyed they didn't believe me. When I said I will send you pictures, they said but well look at the box, there is no room to put bubble wrapping. We only put that around 1lbs/smaller orders. Because we put fafda in the aluminum tray and wrapped it with plastic (literally only 2 thin layers of clear plastic to hold the two aluminium trays together), fafdas should have been fine in the cardboard box, UPS is to blame. Are you kidding me!?!?!?! You expect to ship fragile items across the country (from New York to Utah) and not do the bubble wrap and when items are destroyed you blame UPS??? When I asked what am I suppose to do for my event now, they said we can't do anything now. Didn't even offer shipping few more fafda let alone refunding money for part of shipping/packaging!!! SAID "I AM BUSY NOW SO I CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR YOU NOW, CALL ME NEXT WEEK" and...
Read moreOn behalf of The Center for the Women of New York, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Usha for their incredibly generous and delicious donation to our Taste of the World at Fort Totten gala.
They provided dhokla, a traditional steamed savory cake made from chickpea flour, which was an absolute revelation for many of our guests. Light, fluffy, and delicately tangy, it was seasoned with mustard seeds, fresh cilantro, and a hint of chili—offering a unique and refreshing flavor profile that stood out beautifully among the diverse dishes at the event. It was such a pleasure to experience something both unfamiliar and utterly delicious, and our guests were thrilled to try this authentic and thoughtfully prepared treat.
It is because of adventurous and community-minded businesses like Usha that we are able to raise vital funds for our mission of supporting women in the New York community. Their generosity not only provided a wonderful culinary experience but also highlighted the importance of sharing diverse cultures and cuisines with our community.
We highly recommend Usha for their exceptional dhokla and their tremendous heart. Thank you for introducing us to this delightful dish and for helping make our event an...
Read moreDear Owner, I have ate here many times over the last 5 years, at times with 1, 2, or several people together. I also ordered take out during the height of the pandemic when dine-in wasn’t an option and it was too cold to eat outside - because it was important to support businesses like yours during those difficult times. Recently, I came to the restaurant but was not permitted to dine-in without showing private medical info. The rep at the front was very nice as he apologized that it was “compulsory”. As a private business, you can choose to implement any policy you feel is necessary but should you adopt a policy because you feel compelled to - but you don’t agree with - it will not be a wise business decision in the long run. Folks like me will not return, even if it’s simple enough to show what you seek, because you have no business in asking (other than fear of a fine). The same policies you have adopted will inhibit traffic into your business. If you believe the policy is right, then continue to apply it. If you believe it is wrong, then you can choose to support those who wish to support you in your success. Remember those who set the policy, effectively a barrier to entry, do not want businesses like...
