This little place is neatly tucked inside a shop that's bigger than it looks from the outside and has a pleasant, small, raised seating area in front, up a short, rather steep flight of stairs onto a wooden deck. There's also indoor seating. The place is fairly clean, though it could definitely be cleaner. I do not remember if there are restrooms, but there is a McDonald's right down the street in one direction and a Starbucks a block away in the other direction, both accessible and ostensibly trans-friendly (go to Sbux; one-person loo), so there are multiple options in the area in that regard.
There is NO accessible entrance, so anyone with mobility challenges will NOT be able to enter this establishment easily, if at all. I can't see getting a wheelchair or rollator up those steps alone, and crutches would be a major inconvenience. For those with prosthetics, they're not very deep steps, and if I remember correctly they were edged with metal or something to protect from wear, so finding secure footing with certain prostheses may be an issue. I'm not kidding when I say those stairs are steep. Be careful: They are also slippery in wet conditions. Those humans who are possessed of cranky knees and ankles, take heed!
The lads behind the counter - I never see women working here - are generally pleasant, if hapless. Good guys working at a fast-food joint; I don't expect them to be thrilled. But they're nice enough guys and they've always been cool with me.
The place is very mismanaged, and I put any problems with the store, such as their abysmal delivery service - avoid it! - down to absentee management. It seems that the only people in the place are two or three dudes who just work the counter and the kitchen and dont have much experience or the authority to make decisions that may come up in the normal course of a business day, and because of this the store is badly organised and poorly run. I'm not blaming the guys who work there, I'm blaming the absentee management putting the burden of running their business on people they pay to work the counter. Bad form. From the outside looking in, this appears to be the typical management/ownership trying to get away without paying their employees for the work they do. The dudes behind the counter work hard.
The chicken is delicious, though they always seem to be out of food somehow. It'll satisfy any fried chicken craving; crunchy coating and usually nice and moist, quite flavourful. I always get the spicy version, which is quite mild but enough to leave my wimpy white girl palate tingling gently. Anyone who really loves their genuinely spicy food and grew up doing things like snacking on ghost peppers like the good people of Trinidad or elsewhere will enjoy a good laugh at the "spicy" label. Tastes great though!
The biscuits are terrible - dry and tasteless. Avoid. Honey doesn't even do much to improve them; don't waste any butter in the effort. I haven't tried any of the sides because they're generally unappetizing to me, but while I was waiting for my order - a 10-piece family pack, which had to cooked while I waited about 20m - others came and went and it seemed that the most popular side was the mac and cheese, so that might be a good bet since everyone else asked for it. I didn't mind waiting this time because their air conditioning was excellent on this hot and humid NYC summer day.
It's not Popeye's, so don't think you're in for the fried chicken of the ages; if you're craving Popeye's this will hold you over some until you can get there a few days later. But you'll be sadly disappointed in the biscuits, and Popeye's chicken is definitely better.
When I'm in the mood for fried chicken and I can't get to Popeye's and don't want to fire up a kettle of grease in my own kitchen, though, this place satisfies that craving. I don't go very often, but it's wonderful to know it's...
Read morei couldve sworn i left a review for this place a few months ago, now its gone...weird....my last review was for 2 or 3 stars i think? but since it seems to have been removed im now giving it one star, and im rewriting my review. lets hope it stays this time. anyways, ive only been here maybe 4, 5 times max and 2 of those times my experiences were pretty bad. the first bad experience i had was when i went, ordered food that came with a drink. i dont drink juice and soda like that, so i was interested in getting this red can of minute maid juice, but i had no idea what flavor it was, so i ask the guy at the counter handling my order "what's that red minute maid that's there", and his response was "it's the minute maid that's red" Wow dude, very funny, im dying of laughter over here :| If you hate your job that's cool but it's not my problem, chill with the smart remarks. i get that it's not that serious but its just not even funny at all and just comes off as douchey. the second time was when the store was open according to the hours listed on google, yet when i called no one answered. mind you the store had been open for 30 minutes or so i believe, but i still was lenient and said "ok let me let it slide, it's probably too early to call them". so i go there in person, by now it's been an hour since the store has been open according to google, and the guy behind the counter saw me asking if i can go inside through the front door, which was locked, but he just gave me the cut throat hand signal and didnt let me in. even though the store had been open for an hour..... as for the food itself, its just very mediocre, and id rather go to a local family owned diner for chicken and burgers and fries, rather than some soulless chain, and get better quality food for...

Date of Visit: July 12th Time of Visit: 8:15 pm - 9:15 pm ( approximately)
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received at your outlet on July 12th. Despite placing an order through my nephew, I was treated unprofessionally and rudely by the counter staff.
The incident occurred when I was on a phone call with my nephew upon entering the restaurant. Although I acknowledged the staff and apologized for any disturbance, the counter staff repeatedly asked me to stop speaking in a curt manner. After finishing my call, I politely sought clarification on their request, but the staff member responded aggressively and unprofessionally.
As a customer, I was taken aback by the staff's behavior, particularly given that I was waiting to collect my order. When I expressed my disappointment and asked for an explanation, another staff member intervened, defending their colleague's actions. Unfortunately, this only escalated the situation.
Key Issues:
Rude and unprofessional behavior from the counter staff Lack of customer-centric approach Defensive attitude from the staff when confronted about their behavior
I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and address the issues I've raised. Providing excellent customer service should be a top priority for any business, and I look forward to seeing improvements in...
