We stopped in for a cocktail and a snack early on a Thursday evening and had a fantastic experience!

Diego, our bartender was super friendly, professional and clearly experienced. The drinks he made us - the “Strawberry Apology” and the “Zapateado” were delightful and had complex and interesting flavors.

He recommended the “Maruchan con Mayonnaise” to us for a snack and it was SO good. Such an unusual dish on the face of it, combining ramen noodles with mayo, cheese, corn, and scallions, but absolutely delicious. A perfect comfort food. We also had the tamale and the chorizo quesadillas which were extremely tasty and really hit the spot.

The interior of the space is thoughtfully decorated - dark green walls with tasteful gothic and industrial accents - and the overall vibe was just great. We can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be back soon!!

Edit: I have lived near this place for almost a year now and have been back multiple times with friends and also alone for a quick afternoon refreshing drink. I have NEVER had a bad experience. The cocktails continue to be delicious, and the bartenders continue to be lovely, warm, and hospitable. Oh and also the small bites they offer continue to be super tasty!! You have to check this place out - it’s such a...

ALPHABET CITY STAND UP! One of the beautiful hidden gems of AC. I'm workshopping that acronym so bear with me.

If you like Mezcal, you need to come here. Trust me, I am a mezcal expert. I took one 60 minute mezcal mixology class when I was in Mexico City and ended up getting too turnt to retain anything, but an expert nonetheless.

I have been a few times and it's hit or miss on whether it is packed or not.

Crowd or no crowd, the staff has always been accommodating and patient.

They have a FANTASTIC happy hour where they have a flight of Mezcal for $18. Be careful, as that and a Paloma will have you leaning when you walk out of there.

I F'd up and didn't take pics of the drinks when I went, so that's on me. I've tried the mezcal flight, paloma, classic marg, peach margarita, and the cinnamon marg. Essentially everything on the happy hour menu ahahahaha.

My favorites were the Paloma & cinnamon marg. Quality that is.

Also, the little $3 tacos are the cutest little things I've ever seen. And yummy.

Love this place and it would be a great date spot...

After visiting Oaxaca and learning about mezcal at Mezcaloteca and In Situ, my husband and I wanted to keep learning and tasting different mezcal and that’s how we found out about The Cabinet. We decided to visit the first time in Nov. 2024 only to find that it had been turned into The Miracle on 9th 😂. Surprise! 🎄🎅🏽 We stayed and enjoyed the Christmas cocktails but the mixologist that night told us to return after the new year. We did, many, many times since then and will continue to do so!

The service and atmosphere are excellent. Luis and Diego are amazingly talented mixologists, attentive and welcoming. They share their knowledge and passion for mezcal and serve up strong and delicious cocktails. Each time we visit, we try to get a seat at the bar and chat with them enjoying the cocktails, the company and the conversation.

It’s the perfect place for a date, a night out with friends, or just because. Give it a try. Good music. Great vibes. Excellent drinks. Impeccable service!

Luis and Diego, hasta la...

We went during the Miracle on 9th Street pop up and it was such a cute spot! The tacky yet tasteful Christmas decor and variety of Christmas music made the vibe super festive. We were seated immediately after arrival, and were told of the 90 min table limit. Drinks were all very distinct and unique - we got the Grandma Got Run Over By A T-Rex, Christmas Cricket, and Santa’s Little Helper. Took a while to get our drinks, but they were well worth the wait. Each came in a fun, different themed glass. Would highly recommend the Christmas Cricket if you’re into minty drinks & coconut / pandan flavors. Check this place out if you’re looking for a cute holiday bar!
