Many think the ancient ways of the druids has long been forgotten. Let this be known as a falsehood spread by the Roman Republic. The teachings of the druids live inside me as well as several variety of parasites. One member of the parasites has worked its way into my brain and now commandeers my thoughts. It tells me to drink the pools of water which bubble up on the ground. It is better than fresh water. The puddles contain minerals and vital bacteria.

I live in the wilds now. Living off the vital resources of the land. Just the other day I was foraging for wild berries when I stumbled across a perfectly intact hotdog. The man holding it fought me hard before he relinquished the meat cylinder. Now I am King of these wilds - I am one with nature - the parasite in my brain proclaims me to be mystical and mighty.

Tell me then, what have you done to connect with nature? When was the last time you cracked open a log and devoured the grubs within? One must not be so high and mighty that they frown upon the idea of crawling on their bellies across stone and twigs. I am more than man now, I am druidic slug. My slime endures and allows me great bounties.

I ask of thee now - come to my forest dark and eternal. Drink of the bird bath water and allow thyself to feel the presence of the almighty brain worm. Will you resist? Will you deny yourself the wilds you so longingly cry out for? Do not let the concrete of this city destroy you. Embrace the worm. Embrace eternal life beyond the eyes of humanity.

If this agreement is of prime material then bring me a dog of the hot variety and I shall seal the pact...

I showed up during the hours stated (right at 4pm) on GMaps and a tall euro who had keys opened up the spot late and for less than 30mins. When I asked about the hours, they said they "had to close" and that someone else is "in charge" of opening up the space today.

After I was asked to leave the space and I walked down the block, another melanin-deficient person with the keyholder interrupted my sweet solitude to explain that the "he (the keyholder) is getting married there." I retorted that, "it is irrelevant and offensive that euro immigrants are gentrifying all our Land..." she kept interrupting so I put back in my headphones and ignored this Karen who kept talking at me even after I looked away and blared my music to silence her noise.

No community garden should be chained up shut unless yall specify which community you intend to keep in/out and so everyone is clear of your business and biases.

As an Indigenous person, I find it super violent that so many [green] spaces on my Land are occupied and policed by the Mayo people. Such is the norm today until the ha-wytes relinquish power or are stripped of decision-making outside of their...

Lovely concept for NYC. I arrived at 16:05 on the third Friday in April. I’d missed Wednesday as I was at the library and there was an author talk. A few people were already set up reading and on computers. A few couples and friends groups were taking photos and having snacks. I took a late lunch and read. Unfortunately there were two people on the tree house disturbing the grounds. Talking and arguing loudly about a missed double date. They stayed there until 6pm when I left. Very inconsiderate to other guests and tourists. I’ll email the organisers and suggest 30/45 minute increments so everyone gets a turn.

The flowers were labelled. I was surprised Cohosh comes on blue and not just black. Lovely little plaque for Spam Cat on my second photo.

I will go back another day to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere - hopefully. I took the M9 & the M14sbs are local.

This will be beautiful when on full bloom. A few more benches or lawn chairs would be nice as there are a few sparsely patches of mud.

Run solely on donations - there’s a box for cash and a qr code. I hope to update if they take outdoor...

Idyllic 6BC Botanical Garden in Manhattan’s Lower East Side - a hidden oasis in New York City Happy Sunday! Yesterday, I stopped by the 6BC Botanical Garden, a community garden located in Alphabet city in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. A place of beauty, a quiet refuge, and a space to practice horticulture, this garden is designed, planted and maintained by local volunteers in association with GreenThumb, a program of the City of New York Department of Parks and Recreation. The highlight of the garden is the vine-covered library and tool shed that almost looks like a “treehouse” located on the east side of the property. It is now partly covered by blooming wisteria. The garden has solar power and compost projects as well. I think this is a nice place to relax, meet your friends, read a book or meditate. Admission is free but be respectful of this place and others around you. Donations are accepted. Hours: April 1-October 31 Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Visitors are welcome when the gate is open. Tag someone you’d like to visit this garden with. 📍624 East 6th St. between Avenues B & C, Manhattan, New York City #6bcgarden #secretgarden #lowereastside #alphabetcity #6bcbotanical #communitygarden #nycparks #nyc #newyork #newyorkcity #thingstodoinnyc #thingstodoinnewyork #wisteria #wisteriahysteria
