The Cage: A Hidden Gem Worth Sharing (Almost!) I almost want to gatekeep The Cage, this incredible find of a restaurant, but its brilliance deserves to be shared. I dined here on Valentine's Day, and despite the intimate, lively, and yes, minimal space, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Knowing it's a small family business made it even more appealing – supporting local is something I'm passionate about. From the moment we sat down, the fun began. The drink menu, with its cleverly named cocktails (the "One Night Stand" definitely caught my eye!), had us laughing. As someone with nearly a decade of restaurant industry experience, I recognize a well-crafted cocktail. I ordered the "One Night Stand" (tequila and mezcal – my favorites!), and my companion tried the "Sneaky Link." The place was buzzing, the music was on point, and then the drinks arrived. WOW. I honestly can't remember the last time I had such a perfectly balanced cocktail. The flavor, the consistency, the portion – everything was spot on. It was so good, I practically inhaled it! I had to turn around to compliment the bartender and was shocked to discover it was the OWNER! Talk about dedication. My companion's "Sneaky Link" was equally impressive. This level of quality, especially on a busy Valentine's Day with the owner acting as host, server, bartender, and DJ (talk about multitasking!), is truly remarkable. He was accompanied by another lovely lady who was also fantastic. If the drinks were this good, I knew the food would follow suit. We started with the Mexican Street Corn and Beef Tostones Sliders. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. Fast forward through a few more expertly mixed cocktails (the owner is a true cocktail wizard!) to our entrees: my perfectly cooked steak and my companion's chicken Caesar wrap with fries. Again, perfection. Throughout the night, the owner and his colleague were attentive and engaging, checking in on every table, refilling water glasses, and clearing plates seamlessly. We even discovered they offered hookah (not advertised on the menu, which is surprising!), and it was the smoothest, longest-lasting hookah I've ever had. The Cage isn't playing games. It's the real deal. I'm already planning my return to explore the rest of their menu. Do yourself a favor and experience this hidden gem – you won't be...
Read moreOh, The Cage Lounge, you sly culinary genius. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I was entering a cozy art gallery that secretly moonlights as a flavor powerhouse. The ambiance? Immaculately inviting. The decor? Quirky yet classy. It was as if Picasso himself had a hand in designing this place—with a little nudge from Gordon Ramsay on the food front.
I kicked off my meal with The Cage Salad, crowned with grilled shrimp so perfectly charred it could’ve moonlighted as the main event at a BBQ competition. And then came the Garlic Parmesan Crispy Fried Jumbo Wings. Oh, those wings! The crunch was audible from the next table, and the juicy interior made me question if they were farmed in a magical chicken haven.
For the main course, I ventured into burger bliss with The Cage Smash Burger. This wasn’t your average patty—it was a masterpiece of beef artistry, boasting a secret blend that could probably be used to negotiate world peace. The bun was cloud-soft, the toppings were fresh, and the flavor explosion was worth every bite.
The drinks? Let’s just say the bar wasn’t just beautiful—it was dangerously good. I almost forgot I was here for the food (almost).
Now, let’s talk about the grand finale: the bill. I braced myself for the kind of sticker shock that makes you consider a side hustle, but instead, I was pleasantly stunned. Affordable luxury? Count me in!
In short, The Cage Lounge is a culinary hug with a touch of Latin flair, a pinch of American comfort, and a sprinkle of magic. I’ll be back soon, not just to eat, but to figure out how they’re pulling this off....
Read moreI booked this for a party of 20 and throughout the booking to the actual day the owner was so professional and attentive to the experience I was trying to evoke. They use fresh never frozen food so provided a heads up so what we were interested was ordered. Food was generously portion. We had both mild and barbecue wings and they both were crispy and saucy while being very juicy and flavorful. We also had nachos that were pretty good. Some folks had steak and rice and beans and they disintegrated their plate. The burger someone had the audacity to complain about in previous reviews was juicy and you could tell they used ground meat not a pre-made patty to make it and for 17 bucks it was a double patty with fries I thought that was more than fair. I had the grilled chicken tacos and the chicken had a beautiful char. I was so full I took it to go but I devoured them the next day. The Crema they put on the side and the green salsa were so good. They add cotija cheese and a slab of cheese like queso tropical it was so fire. This is a locally owned, minority business doing it right and they deserve our business. Everyone said they will be returning and my coconut mojito was chef kiss not too light not too strong, I will call it the...
