Google Maps and Gotham Thrift's own website both say this store is open until 8pm today, Wednesday. I went all the way there at around 6:30pm to find the doors locked.... and the sign on their door says that they are closed Monday-Thursday all day, Friday + Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 11am - 7pm (see pics of Gotham's website's listing of their hours, versus what's on their door. You can double click on a pic to enlarge it.) I just suggested edits to google to make the time changes on the google maps listing, so by the time you read this it may be fixed, but can't this business update google and their own website on their own to accurately reflect their hours? I wasted a chunk of time going there r/t only to find it locked. CALL FIRST to make sure they are open, don't trust their own website or the google maps listing. I can't say if this store or good or not bc I couldn't get inside - hopefully you'll get to go when they're open and see if you like it. Best of luck to you,...
Read moreYour overall experience will depend on the shop’s staff roster. If you are lucky, you will get served by a lovely young man from Tennessee (five stars to him); if not - by an obnoxious, rude and disinterested long-haired wonder in a leather biker jacket with zero interpersonal skills. “Clerks”, eat your heart out!
You can find interesting vintage items for sure, but only if you have time to sort through some dross and don’t mind getting your hands dirty (I am not speaking figuratively). Selection is not as curated as I expected and items are neither looked after nor merchandised well. Weird vibe of confused identity - is it a thrift store? Or is it a collectibles/curio/antiques etc store?
Pricing is also random and somewhat illogical. And again, depends on who is serving you.
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place and would rather save my coins for shops in which I feel welcomed.
Left with a bad taste in my mouth, which I fear will linger for some time, especially in...
Read moreGreat shop with a lot if variety. Rustic antiques, Elegant glass and ceramics, sports cards, books, toys, clothes, applications and old tech.
Personally, I feel their toy prices are a little high. There's a lot of Babylon 5 and Star Trek figures for $10 each, and I just don't see the demand or appreciation for those to merit that kind of pricing. The same with Hot Wheels and Matchbox. ...although, I've had some luck with negotiating lower prices, but I think it depends on the item.
HOWEVER! My GF, who likes MCM and Vintage Kitsch, always finds something cool.
It's definitely worth checking out at least...
