Maspeth Diner inc — Restaurant in New York

DO NOT PAY CASH ONLY PAY WITH CREDIT CARD AS DINER IS LIKELY TO MAKE MISTAKE AND YOU WILL HAVE NO RECOURSE.

The customer service is horrible i placed an order for pick up and asked for clarification what was in the dish. Person over the phone neglected to mention there were onions included which I was allergic.

When i called the diner to rectify the issue I asked if there was a manager available and I was told "there isnt one" I said so whose running the floor can I speak to them? "NO ONE IS" and hung up. I called back to express my disappointement and who ever was on the phone started fighting with me telling I dont even know what I ordered and when? Huh?

He didnt even care to listen to what the mistake was. He started telling me how he didnt have time and he just got back from vacation; both which has nothing to do with a service based issue.

Good thing I paid with credit card so it could be disputed otherwise I would be out $50 Who ever that was should be fired.

Doesnt sound like the place is doing well and they should get new management. As a business owner owning multiple businesses I would never have a staff member proceed to argue with the customer especially when my business was...

Just ate breakfast at The City Diner......I used to eat here for many years prior to 2020, and, just never went back. Well.....the place was very clean: tables, seats, floor. It's been repainted and decorated since. They have taken down the outside dining tent so all in all an excellent atmosphere. Menu is extensive and prices reasonable. The server was very attentive, but not overly so. He did an excellent job. Our food order came in a very reasonable time and was very tasty. My son had the farmer's omelet which he said was a good size with a good amount of meat, plenty of home fries and toast. I had the buttermilk pancakes, very generous portion, had to take the unfinished ones to go. Finally tea and coffee were HOT, just the way they should be, and we were given a refill without asking. All in all I will definitely eat here again when I am back in Maspeth, and let all my friends in the area know what a great place this...

This place was the worst diner I've ever eaten at. And im from brooklyn, so that speaks volumes!! The only thing that was right was the tea. The waiter was very nice. But the food was horrendous. I ordered breakfast. (Which is suppose to be the easiest meal of the day.) And i had to bag it & feed it to my dog. Which took me 20mins to chop up & feed it to her. Even sshee couldn't get it down. The owner had the audacity to actually charge almost $30 for it. Maybe the poor guy never been to real steak house. He looked like Cheech & Chong. So what hhee rreeallyy know about steak. Stick to fajitas guy. Your place is 0 for 2. I went once before & ordered WINGS. If u cant get the simple stuff right, then maybe you shouldn't be in the restaurant business.
