I ordered a quilted, pearl & bling, B&W (chocolate & vanilla) inner layered cake with vanilla butter creme. A small one layer wedding cake for our wedding two weeks ago. The cake was for twenty people, considering our small wedding due to the pandemic. The cake was beautifully designed! However, we didn't order a cake for the design only. This was the worst tasting cake I've ever had in my life and not one of my twenty guests mentioned it tasting good. No one ate even half of their slices and I had to throw a third of it completely in the garbage because no one would eat it even the next day. How do you mess up a chocolate and vanilla cake with vanilla butter creme? We are still baffled and remarks from family members and guest indicate that this bakery didn't deliver in taste. We didn't want a cake simply for decoration. The cake tasted like someone forgot to add every sweet ingredient to the cake and had made it for diabetics at a nursing home. It had a spongey feel on my tongue, lacking the luxurious soft & moist texture,...like they used the cheapest sub-par ingredients to make this cake. I feel like the owner was shocked to see me when I originally came in to order the cake and wondered if that had anything to do with it, throughout this also racially tense time. I thought either way, a company still wants to do good business with all their customers even if they don't prefer a particular race of people, especially in a day of online reviews. I'm going to put the possible race issue aside and grant the benefit of the doubt. However, the taste of this cake was highly disappointing to my husband & I , family & friends. I really wish I could do a taste test to see if all their cakes taste anything like this, considering the positive reviews that led me there, but I only have time for one- first time impression when patronizing a local bakery; companies with so called good reviews. I hope this was an isolated incident but either way the margin for error on a wedding cake, which you specialize in, shouldn't exist. To remember the one thing that didn't go well at our wedding, as the cake?... I could have never imagined. Two stars for a beautiful looking cake with our provided...

I ordered a custom cake a few weeks ago and had to delay the pickup due to cancellations of the event due to sickness and other unforeseen pop-up issues with my guests. The lady who took my order (I think the owner?) was initially understanding and held my cake in the freezer. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my event for the second time and asked her to please try to sell the cake and take off the writing (I just ordered a plan white cake!)

I felt some pressure for her to buy the cake anyway, but I expressed that we are only two people and I really didn't want a cake for 20 people without the event. I apologised many times, but since this is a CAKE SHOP, I figured a beautifully, vintage piped white cake would have no problem selling!

She then told me it's going in the garbage, I wasted her time, she should've made me pay up front, and that's what she gets for accommodating me.

However, I am in the food business too, and I know these things happen. Her attitude was very baffling and unexpected.

In any case, I will not be...

The store was cute and I ate a rainbow cookie and cream puff. They were tasty. But here is the problem, I got an Oreo cake for a birthday with my family. The cake was absolutely terrible. I could not imagine that something that looked so tasty could be so the opposite. The frosting was practically tasteless and it was mostly made of frosting. The frosting overpowered everything and there wasn’t much else. There were seven of us in total, all in agreement about the disaster of the cake. At the end of the night I got the hose to spray out the mess-since the abandoned slices spread all over the table as people kept trying to figure out what was in it. The frosting would not wash out and inside the kitchen it was really difficult to remove it. It that stuck to everything and would not was out without intense cleaning. It appeared to be waterproof.

I am still curious as to what ingredients were in it. I am bothering to write this review because it was such a disappointment on what was a special occasion...

We loved our lite afternoon coffee and bakery visit at Sweet Life! I can't believe we just discovered this shop. Our coffees were excellent, and they offer the full offering from cappuccinos, lattes, and traditional drip coffee to teas, iced options, flavors, and extras (including homemade whipped cream!!). The shop is nicely decorated with nice tunes, Michael Bublé jazz always sets the mood! The bakery items were the best part of the experience! They had a wide selection of gluten-free and other options for people with dietary restrictions. We enjoyed gluten-free tea cookies and a strawberry shortcake (with the INCREDIBLE homemade whipped cream :) Great local spot! We watched a lot of regulars order their "regular" during our visit and all left happy with their drinks and engaged in friendly conversation with the owner Grace. We definitely will be back!

I would like to personally thank Grace for doing an amazing job on the cake I ordered for my friends baby shower. My 1st job was working in a bakery and when I tell you how delicious this cake was, Oh My God!!! I was nervous, but left it in Gods hand for this cake to turn out good. I live in The Poconos PA & never met with Grace or have I never ate from the bakery. So this was all on a whim. Her and I spoke on the phone 2x and exchanged a few emails. One level of the cake was chocolate with bananas & strawberries with whip cream and the other level of the cake was cannoli cream. I cant thank you enough! This cake was beyond perfect!

I can only say I wish i bought more. Met a friend for a coffee and was surprised by a spot i never been before. Well I’ll definitely be back. Everything was super fresh and im not a big coffee drinker and it was excellent. Perfectly made. But check the photos if i wasn’t on a diet i would have walked out with boxes. I did dive into a croissant that was made to perfection.i love supporting Small Business on the island. Everyone who walked in you can tell was a regular cause they were greeted by first name. Cant wait to enjoy more of their food.
