Called in for a pick-up order last night, and let's just say that WONT be the last time we ever order something from Tony's again! With this pandemic going on what worries people the most is how sanitary the environment from which they're ordering their food from is: When I walked in the place was sparkling. It was so organized, there was a divided line for pick-up orders and takeout orders. Everyone was within distance from each other and the whole staff was taking their precautions very seriously. Things like that make you feel comfortable and put you at ease knowing that where you're getting your food from is a very clean place.
In regard to the food, you know you're at an awesome pizzeria when you constantly hear the workers shoutout "fresh pizza coming out in two minutes" "fresh chicken rolls coming out now" fresh fresh FRESH. Such an easy quick pick-up and go, whats the point of reheating when it's already steaming hot? I definitely ordered too much than I can handle but it's hard not too when you see these savory slices in front of you. Not only did I order a slice but some dinner meals too. Everything tasted amazing.
Every single person on the staff is incredible. They're so quick, hard working, and most importantly both respectful & kind. Tony's definitely gives you that "at home" vibe because they make you feel comfortable and welcomed. That's the first thing I felt when I walked in through those doors. They're very community oriented and work hard on trying to gather everyone together for community events. And that to me is a very important skill to have, to want to not only be just another pizzeria but a pizzeria that can reach out and change the lives of many--no matter what age, race, sexual orientation, background etc.. Just to make everyone in Brooklyn, one big happy family. They're currently making "pizza prep kits" where they fill up a large pizza box with all the materials you need to make your own pizza. It's such a great idea, especially during these times. Kids aren't in school and I'm not a mom, but I know what it's like to have a child drive you absolutely insane (haha). These pizza kits are amazing and will give a kid something to do and also something to learn.
FRIENDLY ADVICE: Since they're delivery and takeout only due to COVID-19 try to be more understanding if your delivery did happen to take longer than expected. There are people who chose to work through this pandemic and chose to help serve others. Be patient and kind.
Do I recommend Tony's?? A hundred...

I ordered pasta alio e olio for $7.25, as printed on their menu. The man ringing me up charged me $8.98 (including tax). I paid and then took a look at their menu. I confirmed the price, and let the people behind the counter know that I was overcharged.
A manager immediately appeared out of the woodwork, and proceeded to claim that they could change the prices at their discretion. He said that on the bottom of the menu that they can adjust prices as they please.
The problem is that they did not inform me of their updated price before I ordered. Nor did they list the updated price on their readerboard (the one above the counter). They didn't even have my dish listed there! Meanwhile, they continued to distribute a printed menu with information they knew to be inaccurate.
This approach is illegal, and if I encounter it again at any other establishment I will call the cops.
I insisted that I would not pay for a bait-and-switch item. I have more self-respect than that. The manager continued to lecture me and make illegitimate claims about his pricing structure. Then, in a ridiculous turn of events, a job applicant standing at the counter heaped on, claiming that I didn't read the stipulations on the menu. This was audaciously rude of someone who doesn't even work there; a good manager would have told him to be quiet and get out.
A number of people rose to his defense, gathering around me and shouting at me. I was genuinely concerned for my safety and continued walking away.
The owner proceeded to nearly initiate a fist fight with me. He displayed aggressive bullying and an immature negotiating style. He exhibited no integrity; he did not stand by his word. He demanded that I pay an arbitrary price. Getting overcharged in New York is not new; nor is getting overcharged because you look well-off. What is unique is the lengths to which the manager aggressively defended his illegal business practices, and the intensity of his visceral reaction. He is a bigger, taller, and physically stronger man than I, and he exploited this differential in an attempt to bully me into submission.
When you feel you are in physical danger over illegal business practices, you know you should stay as far as way as possible.
If you encounter a similar situation at any establishment, begin by calling the cops. If that doesn't result in a favorable outcome, file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs. A business can be held liable in civil and criminal court for...
Read moreA friend recommended me this place and I really wish he hadn't. The service to take your order is great, the menu is detailed and the staff answers your questions. Our order was taken but the server didn't ask for our name. ( important detail ) we were told that our order would take around 10 minutes. As we waited there for about 10 minutes it was fairly busy and understandably the staff was overworked pumping out pizza's for not only the customers but the delivery services. We waited for 20 mins and it was getting a bit frustrating, as we are watching people walking out who ordered after us, we only ordered a medium pie, garlic knots and a slice of cake. After 45 mins I was at the end of my rope waiting and trying to be understanding so I go up and ask about our garlic knots and pizza and they seem to have lost our order somehow. They ask what was our name for the order but the server never took our name for the order. How do you have someone taking and order and not make sure they are getting names of people who order if that's the kinda service your doing. So he asked if they had a medium pie and garlic knots and all the workers looked around confused. I was absolutely frustrated and walked out after they said it'll be another 20 min wait. So my wife ended up staying and paid but when she did they forgot the cake saying "it wasn't on the order." After we got the stuff the pizza was really salty and luke warm the shop is about a 3 minute walk to my house and the cake was horrible, the garlic knots is what saved this from being a 1 star tbh. Tony's your staff needs to be on point with how they are taking orders, there should be no way and order can get lost...
