I had seen this restaurant recommended on Reddit for their homemade pasta and my daughter and I were wanting some authentic Italian while visiting NYC. We decided to make reservations for dinner before going to a Broadway show. Our reservation was for 5pm, but we arrived about 15 minutes late due to subway delays. Still, we were seated without a problem, as the place was pretty quiet when we arrived, yet grew to be quite busy by the time we left at about 6:15pm. We decided to split an appetizer (Carpaccio di Manzo), salad (Insalata di Stagione), and entree (Ravioli di Ricotta). The appetizer and entree were delicious; however, the salad was a bit bland. The olive oil was served on the side and it didn’t seem to have much balsamic vinegar on it, if any. I wasn’t sure exactly what it seemed to be missing, thus didn’t know what to ask for to “fix” the flavor, so we just ate it and moved on. The ravioli was delicious, but quite rich, so it was good that we had split the dish. We were then offered dessert and when our server mentioned tiramisu as an option, my daughter’s eyes lit up because we both love this dessert. When I asked the server what his favorite was, he said the crème brûlée, which I also really enjoy, so we ordered one of each. Both were delicious, but the tiramisu was definitely our favorite! All in all, we very much enjoyed this quaint little Italian restaurant and would most definitely...

Read moreTHE FOOD WAS AWESOME but the waiter was not. Here’s the story which I am happy to prove info to management if like that we were there.
Made a reservations for 5:30pm on 5/5/22. Waiter did not smile and did not make us feel welcomed in the restaurant. Hardly crack a smile and did not help with the menu - he just basically left us alone and did not recommend after hesitation selecting what to get. After placing an order, WE CANNOT COMPLAIN about the FOOD but only complain about the waiter. After finalizing the bill, we felt he deserved less than 18% of the tip. After the waiter realized it was less than 18% he came back and didn’t bother to ask why. All he said, “sir, just wanted you to be aware it’s less than what it states.” If we were to feel welcome, smile to us, tell us what food is best, serve us water and ask multiple times how are things - he would earn 18% or more! The only people that actually made us feel good is the bus boys - they gave us new utensils, made us feel welcomed, said if it’s ok to take our plates, etc - they should be the waiter!
To highlight who our waiter is he’s slight dark skin, about 5’11” tall, short hair cut with gray hair, slim, well shaved, doesn’t make eye contact and slightly handsome. Again, If all this was opposite I would definitely have given him...
