We just came back from a stay at the Best Western Plus Hospitality House in Manhattan. Overall, we appreciated that the hotel was relatively close to everything (you can walk to Central Park or to Times Square, and it's a very short walk to a subway station.) The room was huge, with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a living area (a rare find in NYC.) The service was great as well - all of the employees were super friendly and helpful.
That said, there are some significant issues that I wish I would have been aware of before I booked. The biggest issue is that it's not visible from any of the photos, but the only air conditioning is window units that are quite old, not very good, and are noisy - and because they're attached to the window and have only a bit of thin plastic to the sides, you can hear all of the street noise as if the window was totally open. The windows are also very dirty, so between the grime and the AC unit, don't expect to see anything from your room. The rooms itself are in need of some updating. The description of the hotel says that the beds are "pillow top with luxury linens." This might have been the case many years ago, but the pillows were super lumpy, the mattress cover quite hard, and the sheets are pilly from years of wear. Some of the wood molding in the bathroom was rotting, and the bathroom itself has no counter space, so be aware that while the room itself can sleep a large crowd, the bathroom space will be pretty cramped. (We ended up brushing teeth in the kitchen, for instance.)
We didn't use the kitchen as much as we thought, but there's a full fridge and stove. The coils on the stove were all crooked, though, so we didn't feel confident using it. We also only had the free breakfast once. It's great to be able to have coffee and hot cocoa at all hours, but the breakfast area itself is super small and was just so-so.
Had I known about the AC issue and the state of the rooms, I would have chosen a different hotel. That said, if you absolutely need the space,...

She helpfully provided written directions to a local Morton Williams supermarket on 2nd Avenue (open 24hrs and loads of good quality produce, soft drinks and alcohol. Friendly checkout staff too)|Apartment 8B 2bed with large living/dining area, spacious enough for family of 4 adults we didn’t use the sofa bed which would increase capacity to 6 but might be a tight squeeze for 6 adults. The beds were very comfortable. The galley kitchen has a large capacity fridge, oven and microwave. Everything in apartment was clean. There were sufficient crockery and cutlery for 4. The shower room was clean with a good quality shower over a mini bathtub. The apartment was serviced every other day during our 6 day stay.|The complementary breakfast is a nice touch. The breakfast room is fairly small we found it easier to take a tray of coffees croissants omelettes etc. back to the room for a more leisurely family breakfast experience. |The location of the apartment in mid town east is excellent for access to Central Park 15mins walk, Rockefeller centre 10mins, Times Square 15mins. It’s on the next block to the Waldorf Astoria. There are close by subway stations at 51st and 53rd streets.|The general area is quite quiet for traffic, we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The area feels generally safe during daytime and evening we were happy to allow adult teenage children to go out alone in the evenings. Smith and Wollensky restaurant and grill on 2nd avenue was excellent for seafood and steak great atmosphere and friendly staff.|Checkout time is a reasonable 1130am and there is a secure luggage room if returning to pick up luggage after checkout.|We would definitely stay at the Best Western...
