Galleria On Third — Attraction in New York

A friend I trust recommended Galleria on Third. This is the first time I ever had to get anything framed as I come from a family of artists and either grew up with or inherited all my artwork pre-framed. It is also the first time I purchased a piece of art, a print which needed framing.

Overall, I am very happy with the services and finished framing provided. The entire process was quick and the piece was ready ahead of schedule. One issue I had was a fleck of glass stuck to the matting. It was small but enough to cause distraction when the light hit it. I called up to mention that to Shadin, thinking I would just open the frame and remove the glass fleck myself. Shadin, however, advised it would be much better for them to do it. Galleria On Third fixed the issue within the hour. They also found a few other specs I hadn’t noticed and replaced the entire matting for me. The finished piece is now perfect.

The only criticism I have is that I’d like a larger selection and variety of frames to choose from. But for the piece of art I needed framed I did find what I was looking for.

I also brought in another print for framing. It was a very old frame that had already fallen off the wall due to loose wire loops that no longer fit securely into the thin wood. I was hoping it could be reinforced somehow as the glass and matt were intact. Unfortunately, it required full re-framing. I left all details of that up to Shadin, who gave me a very decent price. The simple black wooden frame he chose suited the work well and I am more than satisfied.

I'm usually the one that only writes reviews when there's opportunity for improvement. Well, not this time. This time I'm taking the time to write about all the good things that Shadim, from Galleria on Third did for us. We live in upstate NY, and couldn't find a framing store that we liked from Saratoga to Albany... We decided to go to NYC to try to find the perfect frame and quality work for our Ketubah. We based our decision to go with this Gallery on all the good reviews this store had, and we couldn't be happier with the decision. Since we contacted him via email, Shadim was very professional and attentive. We found a frame we liked and asked for the final product to be shipped to our home. This was over the weekend and on Monday we received a call with Shadim's alternative for a nicer frame, as the one we chose had been discontinued. He sent pictures of how it would look and we were excited that it was going to look much better with the new frame and at NO extra cost :) The shipping process went very smoothly as well. We were very impressed when the Ketubah got here, they did an amazing job packing it to make sure it made it home in perfect conditions, which it did!! We LOVE how the frame compliments our Ketubah, we're glad we went this route and took the extra mile(s) to have it done well, as this is something very special to us. About four or five years ago I discovered the magic of Shadin's Galleria on Third when I brought three treasured family photos in to be framed. I have since returned many times, and have no reason to go elsewhere for my framing needs. Shadin and his staff are friendly, gracious, have a refined sense of style and perspective, and do first-rate framing. Prices at Galleria on Third are reasonable. This smallish operation is illustrative of the wonderful secrets to be found in New York's neighborhoods.

I wrote the above review about six years ago, and now it's nearly 2020. Since my original review, my wife and I have had several more pieces of art and photographs framed by Shadin and Sheema at Galleria on Third. Their artistic eye is exquisite, the quality of their work remains absolutely first class, and we have been thoroughly satisfied with every item they've framed for us. Simply stated, their framing enhances the beauty of the objects we have brought to them. Their work is reasonably priced. To top it all off, they are a wonderfully friendly couple.
