I was walking in the neighborhood when I stumbled upon this ice cream shop, which looked cute from the outside. Upon entry, I was warmly greeted. Unfortunately, I walked in at a time when the server was cleaning (not close to closing time). As a result, I was welcomed into the shop with the smell of cleaning products as opposed to the smell of waffles that is quintessential to ice cream shops that make their own waffles. Regarding the ice cream, I actually like that the shop has a small number of flavors as it confirms that the ice cream is most likely homemade. I got a chocolate scoop in a waffle cone. The chocolate ice cream was flavorful without being too decadent, and it was not too sweet, but it missed a je ne sais quoi that would have made this ice cream taste amazing. The waffle cone was excellent: crispy and tasty. Overall, as an ice cream lover, I am afraid this shop did not live up to my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot the best service. We ordered a cookies and cream, which we saw through the freezer window had big chunks of chocolate chip cookie in it, but the staff member helping us scooped from whatever was left over in the back. I told her it didn't look like there were any cookies in there, and she assured me there were, but there weren't. It was disappointing to pay a premium for handmade ice cream that was empty scraps from the bottom of the previous pan; there was not a single chunk of cookie or chocolate chip or anything. We've been here before and saw similar service when a patron told them their fresh cone was soggy (it was very visibly soggy and ice cream was leaking), and the staff told him to either take a cup or buy another cone. Not to mention they always have very limited selections of flavors, and almost half of it is sorbets. Probably won't come back here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe live two blocks away and are just addicted to this place. I eat a lot of ice cream and have tried a huge variety of shops, brands, etc., and this place is with the elite. The prices are shockingly reasonable; the whole place is run like a nice little ice cream store in the midwest or something, lol.
They have a hint of cinnamon in their cones that give them an amazing flavor. Evidently they are made with coconut oil, unless I misheard that part. Either way, the cones are good enough to eat alone. But you wouldn't, because the ice cream is so so good.
My only complaint is they don't have take away pints or similar so we could buy more because it's so good (to be fair, we didn't ask, maybe they would do this--will...
