Update to my original review below:
We have been here several times after the initial review. Nothing has changed or diminished. Everything is just as good and consistent as it was. My only addition is: Why no pasta?? How can you serve chicken parmesan as an entree with no pasta? Why not at least a choice between spaghetti and penne? Please consider this.....

So I'll start with the food...we got the meatball parm app and mozzarella carrozza. Great homemade-tasting meatballs (like a Grandmother would make), and the best mozzarella carrozza I've ever tasted. They came with vodka sauce (server recommended), which also may have been the best I've ever had. Then my wife had a personal pie while I had a sweet sausage parm hero and we shared a caesar salad. Among the best I've had on this island. The sausage parm was delicious. This island is filled with Italian restaurants so for them to stand out and be this good is not easy. Even the salad was delicious. Finished it all up with a cappuccino, which was absolutely top 3 I've tasted in my lifetime.
So now I'll mention the service... the 2 young ladies (one was Gabriella, didn't catch the other name) were on top of their game. I used to manage a restaurant so I know a little something about service. They were attentive and very pleasant. There was another lady that maybe was their supervisor, but she wasn't acting in a server role. She looked like she did a bunch of different things but also supported the servers. She was also very pleasant and looked like she really knew what she was doing.
Last but not least, the atmosphere was great. The music they had on was perfect and provided the best ambiance. From Frank Sinatra to Louie Armstrong.
I will recommend this place to everyone I know. I hope they eventually open a bigger place so more people can enjoy their food. To simply call them a pizzeria would be a crime. Ungaro is now on the go to once a month list. My wife and I are foodies and no doubt we will be back for more.

Read moreWhile Brooklyn takes pride in their Pizza culture we Staten Islanders are truthfully so immersed in our Italian heritage that might as well be called Pizza Island. Everyone has its own personal favorite joint. Ungaro Coal fired pizza ria certainly a fresh addition to our scant coal fired pizza parlos. Place might be new, the owners Dominic and Kim are deep rooted traditional pizza masters.. Get it and their passion is reflected in every pie that comes of genuine only coal fired pizza. No comprises..Charred crust, bubbling cheese and tomatoes oozIng with their robust existence. Divine . These two Italian connoisseurs are here to whet any gourmand's pallet..Their marinara is actually so robust, be ready for little explosions from tomatoes bursting in your mouth..Upon inquiry Kim with great elegance, humbly replied that their source is in Italy but it's a secret...Now I might be wrong but something told my senses these tomatoes are from San Marzano, Italy..Please take the challenge and prove me right... Above all they are Islanders, they are locals providing us a food venu that most certainly parallels with it's heritage...
Read moreIt is very rare that I will give an across the board 5 star rating. But "it ain't braggin if it's true!" LOL Atmosphere is always casual and cozy. Breanna, my server was very friendly, respectful, professional and more than competent. I ordered my pizza 🍕 cooked a very specific way and it is the very first time that I ordered and it came out EXACTLY how I wanted it. Not only was it the way I wanted but before Bre served it she brought it out and let me inspect it to make sure it met my approval. It is that kind of attention to detail that gets my high marks. That is only made possible by doting owners like Kim and Dominick. I've had the pleasure of meeting Kim on two previous occasions but this is the first time that I had the privilege of meeting Dominick. You two are doing a fabulous job and I am looking forward to returning and sampling some of the great appetizers that Kim was speaking about. Next time I need to bring someone with me! Namaste 🙏 Dr...
