La Casa Del Taco — Restaurant in New York

We eat here all the time, even tho it's expensive. But being that the food is good we look past the price . Now ive never had this problem here before,it's my first time. We ordered the other day and it was late later than when we usually order. So I think that played a huge part into why I got sick. My choice of meat was steak n the steak looked so black u can see it was already old at that point but I ate it anyway . Fast forward to like a hour or so I start burping like crazy and than I start to feel nausea for a couple hours ,than it got worse I started vomiting the entire night I did not get no sleep I suffered all night vomiting and extreme nausea, to the point that I was so exhausted and sleep wasn't an option cus when I tried I couldn't the nausea had got me so bad. I was awake for an entire day the entire night and the entire morning I finally was able to put down some nausea medication and dosed off for a few minutes at a time ... so this is pretty much a warning to the people with very sensitive stomachs to not eat here too late when the food has been sitting...

I heard good things about this place but my order was disgusting. Just oil and grease. The Birria tasted like oil, nothing else. Easily the worst I have ever had. I'm expecting to be sick later on. I haven't been this put off by a meal in a long time.

The taco itself tasted pretty good but I had to wipe the grease off. it was just dripping in grease.

I'm actually pretty upset that I ate it. I thought maybe it was me because I was tired and had a few drinks but my brother and stepmom tasted it and said "it's just oil."

I just want to add that I'm Latino as well so I know good food. This is not it. I gave 2 stars because I think this was a mistake. I don't even know if they have Barras on the menu but everything else seemed to be okay. But yeah, don't expect to keep your customers if you are serving that much grease/oil. In my entire life, I have never had to comment on such a thing and I hope this is the last time.

I'm going to read the reviews and maybe give it 1 last try but as of right now it's 2 thumbs down from me. Plenty of better authentic restaurants...

I have now been to this establishment 3 times. The first being for a quick taco to go. Excellent! The 2nd being for a meal I treated a friend to and that was outstanding. I had a spicy pork burrito that was to die for. Maria had a quesadilla that was delightful and then we ordered another to bring home to her family. The very friendly, pretty and competent waitress provided outstanding service and even remembered me and that I now live in the Dominican Republic. It is very impressive that a server would remember a detail like that enough to bring it up on a subsequent visit. That in of itself is the reason I went there earlier this evening, because she was so competent. She was not there earlier but Lorena was and she was equally attentive and competent. The decor of the restaurant also is very classy, traditional and worth a visit just to witness it. Anyone wishing to have a delicious, inexpensive, traditional Mexican meal in an almost museum atmosphere then I strongly recommend this well run semi fast food establishment that gives surprisingly good...
