I want to start by saying I’m not the type of person who leaves bad reviews. It’s not something I normally do.
That being said, I actually really enjoy the food at Avocado Sushi. However, their customer service is so horrendous that I will never order from them again.
Up until now, I’ve ordered from this restaurant at least once—and sometimes twice—a week for the past couple of years. I have no complaints about the food itself. But now, after years of being a loyal customer, I will never give them my business again.
The other night, I placed an order. About an hour went by, and I checked my app to see that several Dashers had gone to the restaurant and left without picking up my order. After another 30 minutes passed, DoorDash canceled my order and refunded the money I had spent on it. I assumed the restaurant was closed or something. I called them to ask if they were open, and the woman who answered said yes. So, I asked if she knew why my order wasn’t picked up. She told me they had given the food to the wrong Dasher, who left with it, and it was lost. I told her it wasn’t a problem—accidents happen.
After I hung up, I placed the exact same order again using the credits DoorDash had refunded me for the original order that was never delivered. The restaurant called me back and told me they would not make my order unless I ordered directly from them. The woman explained that because the first order never got delivered, they hadn’t received the $60 I’d paid through DoorDash. She said her manager wouldn’t allow her to make the new order I had just placed.
I was being very nice about it and explained that it was too late for me to order directly from them—I had already placed the order again on DoorDash and been charged for it. If I placed the order through them, I would effectively be paying twice for my food. I told her this was an issue they needed to take up with DoorDash, not me, as I’m the customer. She said she’d speak to her manager and hung up.
Forty minutes went by, and I saw that several Dashers had again gone to the restaurant and left without my order. I called back to ask if they had resolved the issue. She told me once more that her manager wouldn’t allow them to make the food since they hadn’t received payment for the first order, which they had given to the wrong Dasher. They outright refused to make the food.
Now I was agitated and told her, “If you’re not going to make my food, please cancel it so I can order from somewhere else.” She refused. So, I spent the next 20 minutes on the phone with DoorDash canceling it myself.
I still have no idea why they would refuse to fill the second order I paid for. I understand their frustration with DoorDash, but what does that have to do with me? That’s no way to treat a frequent customer who did nothing wrong. These people have no desire to keep their customers happy. Instead of taking a $60 loss and moving on, they decided to hold my food hostage and ruin my night.
I’ve literally spent thousands of dollars at this place and intended to keep doing so for years to come. But now, I will never order from them again because of how they...
Read moreI appreciate businesses that are honest in their service. I ordered a bento box that comes with salmon, sushi rolls, California rolls, fried dumplings and shumai. I substituted the sushi for additional fried dumplings, for which I paid extra. I didn’t get the additional dumplings and when I called back, the person who answered the phone basically said I was given the correct order. I’ve ordered like this before and NEVER had a problem. It was the intentionally circular way that she tried to tell me I was wrong and acting like she just couldn’t have been wrong. When a food industry person does something like this, I lose trust that they are ethical about other things in their restaurant. I order from this franchise very frequently and I’m over it. I will be finding a place with decent employees who do the right thing. Especially when a customer is not rude. I hope the $1 was worth the loss of $20 to $40 per...
Read moreI ordered the honey walnut chicken and i was wildly dissapointed with a 15 dollar meal that was made with a .50 cent value. I then asked to speak with the chef which hung up the phone on me then i called back and he was busy and told the woman on the phone to say he couldnt speak then she said it wasnt her right. Handled a customer very poorly that was dissatisfied and is making me go there to speak with the chef in person so i can put my complaint in instead of just listening to what a customer has to say and for that this is the worst franchise, restaurant or whatever u want to call this unnatractive location for any person to eat at or order from. I highly recommend going...
