We were introduced to Veganeets at the Vegandale festival. We attend Vegandale in large groups with the intention of seeking out to explore eating options to refer to our client base that spans throughout the health and wellness and real estate fields. We try to support as many vendors as possible NO MATTER what their set up, presentation or staff composition looks like.
With so many other vendors (over 200+) we do have a tendency to lean towards the vendors that "appear" to have little activity on their lines (or no line at all). We are curios to know what the reasons are for the minimal activity. And in the past have discovered gems that simply are overlooked within the sea of vendors. That said, meet Veganeets....
With a bubbly staff of ladies ready to provide service you are greeted with a offerings housed in styro trays artfully lining the display table. So far so good ...
We asked one of the members subtly why the cost was so high ... the reply included ... a. the ingredients used such as black rice and grape seed oil were of the highest quality b. the overall quality of the experience is top tier comparing it to a Rolls Royce of Vegan Cuisine.. and c. it is not processed or comfort food
And with that, we proceeded with the transaction with high excitement that we are about to experience taste bud heaven.
Sometime later ... we returned to their booth and placed the food on their table (half eaten). Despite us being hungry like a wolf, could not dig into this food that we just paid rolls royce money for. Here's why:
We chose to get an entree and a side of tacos. The entree (close appoximation) included about x6 TBLS of rice, x4 TBLS of potato salad, perhaps x16 sticks of a ziti type pasta and x1 20g sliver of a deep fried mushroom of sort. The Tacos, not sure what was in each, but in total weight for the entire serving, perhaps 30g (including the shells).
The bill ... $67
The taste of each of the SAMPLES that was assembled in the Entree was possibly on point with being competitive (on the lower end) with any other vendor there. There was nothing exceptional about this food in any way that justified the cost of a $40 entree and a $25 side. we tried with deep heart and open mind to make sense of it. It was to say the least disappointing.
It feels like being pitched into an investment to find out later the premise of the pitched was flawed or intentionally misrepresented in order to lure in prospective investors.
We informed them of the above when we brought the food back. They acknowledged and tossed it in the garbage. No mention, hint or suggestion of refund or try another __ arose.
And with that the crime was completed. Lesson learned.
We represent a collective of health foundations that service thousands of people. We truly look out for any and all healthy option yummies out there are look forward to bringing it back into the network. All you have to do is be yummie and healthier and you will by default benefit from gaining at least hundreds of new clients.
In this case, with Veganeets ... the DEEP Frying is not a healthier option and surely falls into the Comfort Food approach. And the overall taste does compete at a Rolls Royce level as presented.
You may check out Greedi Vegan for a more tasteful experience at at least HALF the price. Four Seasons in Flatbush at 1/3 of price. If in NJ ... Plant Base 1/3 price (bustling with flavors) and House Of Flavor at 1/3 price.

Read moreI am happy to leave an honest review on my experience with Veganeets! Their famous Rasta is to die for and the jackfruit tacos are out of this world. I love the fact that Veganeets actually uses walnut meat and jackfruit chicken as an alternative protein compared to most places. Kids are the most critical and even my son loved the food! As a pescatarian I am happy to have found them to continue to indulge in more plant...
