Like many, I accept the restaurant trilemma that quality food, good service and good price cannot be achieve all together as a matter of fact in life. This place pleasantly proves me wrong. It's a small Chinese restaurant run by a very friendly husband/wife duo. The place has A-rating and the kitchen is widely visible from the counter. Inside and outside, it's maintained neat and clean. Food-wise, everything I tried so far have been very solid and satisfying and ingredients look and taste fresh. They all come in very generous portion at a very*3 reasonable price. Once I gave this place a try, I can never be happy with other Chinese places in this part of Brooklyn where Chinese restaurants are ubiquitous and omnipresent. I also have to shout out the friendly and attentive service by the owners. Not only they are friendly and courteous at every interaction I had so far, they remember you - not just recognize you as a return customer but how you like your food. Clearly they are attentive to...
Read moreAs an Asian American growing up around home-cooked Chinese food, I am hesitant to recommend any local Chinese restaurants without some form of disclaimer about the MSG level. However the times that I have ordered from their Lunch Special and from the glowing reviews from my colleagues about Welcome Chili, this place is A GEM hidden on Fort Hamilton Parkway. Every order is on point with the flavor profile and never overdone. I have never received soggy vegetables or a dish over-drenched with sauce. I believe they are trying to cater to more health-conscious clients. The variety of choices on the Lunch Special Menu, the price, the quality and quantity of the food plus excellent customer service all point to a win-win situation for...
Read more3.5 stars—Pretty good but not great. We were trying to find a closer Szechuan place. Welcome delivered more quickly than north Slope restaurants. Ordering is possible only via phone, but cheaper prices made the extra trouble worth it. The Pork with Garlic was spicy and good, would order again. General Tso’s was tasty but had textural issues. The breading combined with the vegetables (which I enjoyed) and sauce made it a bit gummy. The fried rice seemed fresh. Not many pork options on the lunch menu, probably reflective of the location and...
