Dine here if you want to be disrespected, your dietary needs laughed at and mocked, and you have plenty of time to waste for the most mediocre food of your life. What a joke! We wanted to go here and support this place because we want to support Nepali businesses. However, the service was absolutely atrocious and we will absolutely never return here. We always like to start off out with our dietary and health restrictions - we had one person in our party who is vegan and cannot tolerate spicy food. This is not a fad - they literally will have an allergic reaction if they consume spicy food. We ordered appetizers first and reiterated to the waitress multiple times that we wanted the appetizer mild. The appetizer was extremely spicy, and when we told the waitress, she said “it wasn’t that spicy”. Really? Did she get a sampler too because it was hot!!
Anyway, as we mentioned the vegan thing - we ordered the vegetarian Momo and we got chicken momos. Did the waitress apologize? No, she said “you only said the chow-mein should be vegetarian”. Actually, we said that both the Momo and chow-mein should be vegetarian. To the staff, try this thing called an apology instead of gaslighting. Revolutionary, right? And, the chow-mein that we mentioned? We literally never received it, but was it on the bill? You betcha!
They made 0 attempts to apologize or make up for the service. We literally left because we couldn’t stand being disrespected like this.
If you like Himalayan food, go elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants in this neighborhood with better food that won’t treat you like a piece of garbage. This restaurant got such a big ego after being written by the New York Times. Here’s a tip for the restaurant: treat your customers better, specially the ones traveling far to...

That is what we paid for right ! To have a nice night and he was so rude! I could have just walked out without paying but not cheap as them. The father came to apologize at the end but the damage was already done!!! This restaurant is a scam!! Please don’t go! If u go on weekends pls don’t clap, or sing along with the singer or enjoy!cause it’s against their law!! Not to mention the food was overpriced, overly done and the owner was drinking with his gangs instead of doing customer service… Sorry!! What...
Read moreReally bad service. Waited inside after choosing a seat for about 20 minutes. The waitress had a bad attitude from the start, hostile, rude, and bad vibes overall. There were about 3 other parties inside. We did not get served after 20 minutes of waiting. The waitress served the regulars who got there after us (the regulars were smoking cigarettes inside the restaurant, giving us secondhand smoke). She did not even say anything when she saw us leaving. Can’t tell if it is discrimination or a terrible business practice of prioritizing regulars while ignoring new customers. Glad we left because I see bad reviews about cleanliness and roaches. Never going here again. Glad Phayul was nearby to...
