Xia Chao Malatang — Restaurant in New York

While dining at this restaurant, we found 7–8 mosquitoes in our food. We immediately asked the staff for help, but the response was very dismissive, she only suggested we move to another table, without taking the issue seriously. What was even worse, she was wearing gloves used for handling food and used those same gloves to wipe the mosquitoes off the napkin where we had placed them. By the time we managed to take a photo, only one or two mosquitoes remained; the rest were already wiped away. She also offered to pack our food, but it was clearly contaminated and couldn’t be eaten. The way the situation was handled was extremely unprofessional, and the hygiene standards are clearly unacceptable. Definitely not...

So I just ordered Uber eats from this place, I don’t eat pork for religious reasons.

Usually it doesn’t specify anywhere on the app what has pork broth etc so(please just add that on your menu for people who are maybe vegetarian or don’t eat pork like me)

I put in the instructions to just not put pork broth in it just in case. The owner or host was so nice that he called me and explained the mala tang has pork broth and suggested an alternative for me. It was super nice of him, he didn’t have to do that. We ordered from here on seamless tonight, I was hesitant since they had no reviews but it looked really good and the food was really great!! We did the 8 ingredient mala tang and some sides. Standouts are the mala tang, okonomiyaki and fried dough sticks. The salt crispy chicken was good but wasn’t as crispy after travel so probably would be better in person.
