Review of the Best Biryani Restaurant in Newark: Spice Junction
If you’re on the hunt for the best biryani in Newark, look no further than Spice Junction. This hidden gem has quickly become the go-to spot for biryani lovers, and after my recent visit, I can confidently say it lives up to the hype!
Ambiance: As soon as you step into Spice Junction, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor blends traditional Indian elements with modern touches, creating a cozy yet vibrant dining experience. The subtle spices wafting through the air only heighten your anticipation for the meal to come.
Service: The staff at Spice Junction are incredibly friendly and attentive. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel welcome. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations, ensuring we got the best experience possible.
The Biryani: Now, onto the star of the show—the biryani. Spice Junction offers a variety of options, including chicken, lamb, vegetarian, and even seafood biryani. I opted for the chicken biryani, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The rice was perfectly cooked, fluffy, and infused with aromatic spices that danced on my palate. The tender chicken pieces were marinated to perfection, making each bite incredibly flavorful.
What sets their biryani apart is the balance of spices; it’s rich without being overpowering. The accompanying raita (yogurt sauce) complemented the dish beautifully, adding a refreshing element that enhanced the overall experience.
Sides and Extras: Don’t skip the appetizers! The samosas were crispy and filled with a perfectly spiced potato mixture. The naan was also a must-try—soft, warm, and perfect for scooping up the biryani.
Dessert: To round off the meal, I indulged in their gulab jamun. These sweet, syrup-soaked balls were the perfect way to end a delightful dining experience.
Overall Experience: Spice Junction is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic biryani in Newark. The combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and a warm ambiance makes it a standout choice. Whether you’re a biryani connoisseur or a first-timer, this restaurant will not disappoint. I can’t wait to return and try more of their offerings!

Read moreOrdered through doordash for pickup. Firstly this restaurant is named wrong. It's actually Biriyani junction and in doordash it’s named Biriyani bites. If you search for biriyani bites in Google maps you will never find this place. When asked at the restaurant they say they both are same thing!! How ridiculous!!
The food was too oily and not good at all. I wanted to have fish and we thought Tandoori Fish (Pomfret) would be boneless and it was not the entire fish. And I even called and checked before ordering as this was our first time ordering tandoori fish. But when we received the order it was an entire fish and with bones. We were so disappointed and we didn't even touch it. When called to check with the restaurant they completely ignored us and instead blamed us stating it was our mistake and we didn't even call them before ordering. The owner is rude and doesn't even care. This place is terribly managed and I dont know how they are still functioning.
Please do yourself a favor and refrain yourself going to this place. Trust me or else you will be very dissapointed. The place is very dirty as well and I can't even imagine how the...
Read moreBiryani Junction is a delightful culinary gem that truly delivers an exceptional dining experience. The highlight of my meal was the boneless chicken biryani, where the rice was cooked to perfection—fluffy and aromatic, it set the stage for the star of the show: the boneless chicken. I opted for the spicy version, and it did not disappoint; the chicken was bursting with flavor and had just the right level of heat to keep my taste buds dancing.
One pleasant surprise was the addition of roasted cashews mixed throughout the dish, lending a delightful crunch and a rich, nutty flavor that complemented the spices beautifully. To top it all off, the biryani was garnished with half a hard-boiled egg, adding a touch of elegance and a creamy contrast to the dish.
Overall, Biryani Junction is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. The combination of perfectly cooked rice, flavorful chicken, and thoughtful garnishes makes for a truly satisfying meal.
I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!
