Excellent coffee in a serene, delightful space in a beautiful developing neighborhood! A real gem in a historic section of Newark!

I stopped in on a sunny weekday morning and was instantly greeted by the owner, who worked with me to craft a morning beverage exactly to my liking! The natural sunlight and the decor, comprised of ample plants and relaxing green makes for such a welcoming place to enjoy a coffee, read, grab a snack, or get some work done on your laptop.

They have a variety of coffees and espresso drinks, with a nice case of fresh bagels, muffins, and cookies. My bagel was excellent as was the macadamia nut cookie that I enjoyed on the way out.

If you like unique coffee spots with a comforting selection, this is right up your alley. Sam is the owner, who has put her personal touch on this place, and it has done wonders! Parking is easier than you might think as well.

Waste of money and time. Walked in no one was inside, walked back out and the guy was coming in. He seems annoyed that he had to come in and make the coffee(like it's not his literal job). The coffee was cold and watery. I asked for creamer he said we have milk. He did heat the milk which was nice. Overall, the whole interaction was weird. He was sort of weird definitely shouldn't be serving people if he seems annoyed. Maybe put him in the back of the house, nothing...

Fern & Fossil has such a happy atmosphere with all the pretty plants and comfy seating. If you're a non coffee drinker, I highly recommend the turmeric golden latte and the decaf. I like my decaf bold, and they make each cup fresh to order - which is a departure from most places that totally neglect us decaf people!
