Yesterday was absolutely an honor as well as an obligation in keeping the legacy alive for my grandmother, the late great Myrtle Simmons and the Awesome trail blazing, the late great Madame Louise Scott!
As I traveled throughout the halls of this monumental piece of history, traveling back to a time where my own grandmother walked those very same halls, gave me a feeling I truly can not convey other than honored and overwhelming joy.
Respect and love for the woman I have never had the pleasure of meeting, but whose spirit filled each and every room of this beautiful and masterful craftsmanship of architectural grandeur. The same woman who led my own grandmother to greatness in the world of business and taught her the importance of entrepreneurship at a time when African -American women fought to get the seat at the table. Avi, Alexis and my beloved Council-Woman-At-Large, Rev. Dr. Louise Scott-Roundtree, thank you for making a childhood fantasy come true. I am still basking in the awe of it all. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share to so many amazing Entrepreneurs and future Trail Blazers who have taken the leap of faith towards living out their own dreams.
The Uber excitement that I have for what Avi has created through Makerhoods , is uncontainable! So much greatness has come from the City of Newark and so many of us in business have The Late Great Madame Louise Scott to thank for it all…Her legacy LIVES ON!!!
So looking forward to the bright business partnerships and collaborations coming through us working together. Again, huge congratulations on making this vision a reality for so many seasoned & up and coming entrepreneurs. Thank you and can not wait to get together in the near future adding onto this amazing legacy in beauty...
