I found one of the best authentic, traditional, halal West African reasturaunts in Newark, NJ! 🙂‍↕️ Bamako Maliba Adams Kitchen 📍 360 Washington St. Newark, NJ, 07102 (973)-900-6412 Open 7 days a week! The owner is Adam. She’s Malian and phenomenal! She welcomed us so gracefully, and the ambiance was extremely comforting. She really made us feel at home. The food was GREAT (if you couldnt tell lol) 10/10 What did we get: Attieke w/ Tilapia & Sweet Plantins ($23) #newarknj #reasturaunts #smallbusinesstiktok #newark #african

A Hidden African Gem Worth Discovering I recently visited this incredible African restaurant, and I’m still thinking about the experience! The food was absolutely delicious—each dish bursting with authentic flavors that truly satisfied my taste buds. What stood out even more was the cleanliness of the restaurant; it was spotless from top to bottom, including the bathroom, which was impeccably maintained. The staff was another highlight—they were so warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Their excellent service added a personal touch that made the visit even more enjoyable. If I have one wish, it’s that this place was in a better location to attract the traffic it rightfully deserves. It’s a hidden gem that more people need to know about! I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to everyone. If you’re looking for an authentic and outstanding African dining experience, this is the place to go!

First time having this restuarant and won’t be a last. The dishes are just like the images and the flavors did not disappoint. Chill vibe and fast turn around. We had the fufu, I’ve seen tik tok videos of this dish and have always wanted to try it. Crabs and oxtail and it was perfection! We also had the red snapper and the sauce on top of the fish was so flavorful!! Left their stuffed but had to grab a couple of their drinks the hibiscus and tamarindo were refreshing. Thank you for the great service and experience of having your food

Stopped by after a concert at Prudential Center, we’ve never tried West African food before but this was an insane introduction. We split the poulet rôti with jallof rice and fried sweet plantains and it was genuinely the best food that my girlfriend and I had had in a while. The staff were all super accommodating and welcoming, and we can’t wait for our next visit here

Edit: We came back and if I could give this place 10 stars I really would! The lady who helped us the first time we came recognized us and treated us like family, she is so warm, welcoming, and really makes sure that everyone feels at home. Today, we had the pompano, chicken skewers, and dibi and everything was outstanding. I had the pompano and the bones were left completely clean. My only wish is that this restaurant was in NYC or closer to us, but we will continue to visit every time we are in...
