Unless you are going for the promo, do not go in late in the day after a promo. IHOP was offering a free stack of pancakes today if you donated to a charity. 7am-7pm on all the promotions. This location apparently ended theirs at 2pm. Okay, no biggie. I missed out. Giant posters offering a limited time all you can eat pancakes with the purchase of an omelette. Well that sounds like a great deal. I order the steak omelette. It came out fairly quick and tasted great to me. The problem is the staff after a promotion. They probably brought more staff in to handle the promo but everyone was beleaguered. My server more so than others. Appeared to rush my initial order and came with my check after I had finished my omelette and pancakes. I had to request more pancakes which surprised him but he agreed to get me another 2. It took awhile which I could understand. It came out great. But that was it. My server did not seem to come down my aisle again or check up on me. Did not get a refill on water once or offered any more of the unlimited pancakes. He unfortunately did not identify himself, turned quickly when I tried to look at his name tag, and was not the server listed on my check.
Can’t say I blame the staff but do yourself a favor and not go in after a promo. The food was still good but everyone looked battle weary and customer service...
Read moreSo the good bad and the ugly…. The service was really good. Been there a few times now and they are always nice. I got eggs Benedict a few days ago and the hollandaise was absolutely probably one of the worst I’ve ever had almost tasted sour like it had a bunch of lemon in it or something. I’m not sure, but it was not a traditional holiday by any means… now the ugly we have been in Newark now for a couple years and we would go to Ross and go to Safway and a few of the other restaurants around there. However, we did not even realize there was an IHOP there until we drove by the front of it…. I’m not sure if they are allowed but they almost need a large sign put up in the air that way you can see it from the highway. I think it would bring in a lot more business or at the very least put some sort of signage up on the backside of the building if you don’t drive in the front of it, there’s trees blocking it. You can’t even tell what it is…. Good luck on getting something...
Read moreOur server, Adrian, was really friendly and on top of things. We never felt like we were waiting or that we needed something. Good server, for sure.
This was the absolute cleanest IHOP we’ve been in. We’ve been to several that had food remnants and crumbs on multiple tables, in seats, on the floor, etc.. with bathrooms absolutely covered in toilet paper. Not this location. This location looked like everything was untouched and unused.
My only complaint is food related. The chicken strips on the appetizer sampler ($15.00 for three chicken strips, three mozzarella sticks and about seven onion rings) were over cooked, barely above chicken nugget size (like maybe two inches long), covered in with a very thick, heavy breading that tasted like old oil and flour. Not good.
Our to go order came out quickly, packed up and ready to go. I even left without checking my to go order, which I never do. I trusted Adrian had everything in order.
Overall,...
