the service is so whack. Two girls who looked dead inside took the orders. They spoke so softly it was hard to hear, so there was confusion right off the bat. We ordered three sandwiches, one tri tip, one tuna, one turkey. We get home, open the sandwiches, and I notice that there is no tuna on the tuna sandwich. In fact, all that was on the tuna sandwich was some soggy lettuce and a metric ton of mayo and mustard. We go back, exchange the sandwich, all is well. The dude who rang us up at the counter was very nice. We get back home, I eat the tuna sandwich. My brother opens up his tri tip sandwich, takes a bite, and to his genuine horror and astonishment, the missing tuna from the first sandwich was found. They put the TUNA on the BBQ TRI TIP SANDWICH. How do you even make this mistake?
The sandwich I ate tasted fine once it was fixed, but the 2 not-so-small mess ups really brought our experience with this...
Read moreI've visited this location a handful of times. [I was used to the location in San Mateo (unaffiliated) which has very friendly staff and their sandwiches are amazing and generous.] This Newark location is pretty lackluster. Of the 5 times I've been here, I was only greeted upon entry once, and I'm pretty sure it was the owner/manager who did so. They have teenagers working there who don't quite know what work ethic is yet. The same young girl every time I've been there will be working on the online orders without ever looking up or offering a simple "Hello, we'll be right with you". Other employees will be in the back and maybe one more will be working the cash register. They are also pretty skimpy on the ingredients, and I'm not a gluttonous person, honestly! I guess I've only continued to go there because it's close to home and I'm hoping it'll be better every time. "Insanity", I know. Probably won't...
Read moreThis was my first time taking my cousin here.
And as soon as we walked in, we were met by Raj and Pedro.
They were very friendly and welcoming. I informed them this was her first time coming here. Raj was very helpful in offering suggestions that are the local favorites. We settled upon the classic OG tuna sandwich, that came with Albuquerque tuna and all the fixings.
All the fixings include Mayo mustard, A garlic sauce, peppercini, lettuce, pickles tomatoes.
It was a pretty decent make sandwich and their chips were delicious as well. Raj is friendly enough to also add in a free cookie for us. We would...
