My group and I came off of a 5hr flight and another hour to get through the airport. Needless to say we we're all hungry while waiting for our limo bus. It was around 8:40pm on 10/14/2017 when we decided to order some sandwiches. There was about 20 of us that stayed in hopes to get some food from this Starbucks location within the Newark airport. About 7 of us approached the Starbucks staff and immediately got stand-offish looks while staff was quick to snicker that they were closing "can you order something, as long as it's before 9." We asked for some sandwiches and we're quickly told that the grill is closed and they aren't making sandwiches. The hours of operation are listed to be open until 9pm. Which means we we're all there and ready to order before the closing time. We were turned away right after they handed three customers some sandwiches right in front of us and then began cleaning the grill. Most of us were about to order at least a sandwich and a drink and a snack, one of our bills with those items, (premade sandwiche instead) came to $15. Like I said 7 of us stayed the rest of the group got distgusted with the attitudes from the Starbucks employees and lack of customer service. Thats over $150 of business these employees turned away. Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me say that the product was good and typically Starbucks priced without being through the roof with other airport prices on top of it. But the major thing here was employee behavior. The stove was down so no one could get food and they were a bit rude to customers in line about this. The one employee at the cash register was actually very nice. But the other employees sort of went off whenever someone requested food.
Then the weird thing. While waiting for drinks, a random airport employee walked up and started talking to one of the employees and just totally stood in the way of people getting their items and would not move. Then they started getting confrontational with people who were obviously staring at them confused. The employees made no effort to shoo this woman away, who was also having a livid conversation on her phone as well as with one of the employees. Everyone had to reach around this person to get their items and it was very much making people uncomfortable due to the employee's confrontational behavior and aggressive conversation she was having with the Starbucks employee.
If people had not already paid for their items, this random airport employee would have done wonders at chasing off customers. Thankfully she didn't park herself at the cash register and...

I ordered my drinks clearly and stated exactly what I wanted and originally believed I was being truly listened to. Fifteen minutes had passed when I started to second guess my prior notion. Only one of my drinks was given to me and I asked the staff what was the problem. When asked, the workers replied with a careless āweāre making themā. I made the idiotic mistake of trusting my diminishing time in the hands of this ignorant establishment. Once I finally was delivered my order I was very happy until I finally checked what I had been given. These incompetent workers obviously had not even listened to me from the beginning and switched the sizes on the drinks. My overall satisfaction of this Starbucks is a bare minimum and I would certainly think twice before returning. I advise you to stand clear of this establishment if you respect and value service and have little time...
