!!! DO NOT EAT HERE !!! THERE WAS GLASS IN MY FOOD AND I HAD TO VISIT THE ER.
I visited this restaurant on 9/23/25 to get some food before my flight back home. In my coleslaw, there was a piece of glass that I only found because I bit down on it while I was eating.
My server didnt come back after my order because they were busy and this other server talked to me instead. She treated me horribly and never once apologized. When I asked for a manager, she told me the manager wasn't there and that I'm fine because the glass is on the plate and I should leave. She also threw away the glass. I felt like I was trying to be reasonable and just wanted to go home, but after that I got mad and I started to feel a lot of pain in my stomach. I own a restaurant myself so I could not believe these workers could be so careless with people's food.
I asked several times for a receipt but was refused. I asked for help getting medical assistance and they said they didn't know and brushed me off. I eventually dialed 911 to call the police to get a receipt and an ambulance to take me to the ER because I didn't know if I ate any glass. If something happens on the plane I wouldn't be able to get help.
What was supposed to be a simple meal turned into me missing my flight when I have a busy day tomorrow and a hospital visit. This was my worst experience at both an airport and...
Read moreI generally do not like to post anything negative on a place, however, this was terrible. It is located inside Newark Airport, so I guess they figure that they will not get repeat business. We ordered an order of cheese sticks and an order of their diner fries. The cheese sticks were not bad, but the fries were burned, the cheese was packaged slices that were not completely melted, and the brown gravy was tastless. The service was worse than the food. The service ranks up there with the worst we have ever had, and we do not expect much, especially in an airport. The server never came back once to refill drinks, and I had to ask the person clearing our dishes to please get me a refill on my water. This is a small place, there were 4 servers waiting tables, and they were not busy at all. I guess our server figured since we ordered appetizers that we were not going to tip her, which was far from what happened. She was not happy and rolled her eyes at my wife when she had the audacity to ask for plates because we were sharing the appetizers. I should have read reviews first or taken into consideration that every other place in the terminal was busy besides Garden State Diner. Just be mindful and check reviews before spending...

Omar was the manager and made no effort at all to help resolve our food voucher issue. He had no empathy even though the issue could have been avoided if his employees were better educated that they ONLY REDEEM UNITED MEAL VOUCHERS. We originally flew with Spirit, but our connecting flight was missed due to a delay. Spirit transferred our flight to United to help us get home quicker instead of another full day of travel. Yay, Spirit. However, when we arrived at the terminal for breakfast, we asked the employees at the diner if they accepted the vouchers, the diner said yes, no problem. So we proceed to have breakfast. When we go to pay using the voucher, it was refused because it was issued by Spirit, not United. Apparently, this diner only accepts United vouchers. There was no effort on the diners' end to offer a resolution. Omar's only concern was to stand by the front entry and block it off as if we were going to dine and dash. We paid out of...
