Sprinkles of Joy Bakery — Restaurant in Newberg

By far the absolute best place for wonderful bakery treats! The choice of cupcakes rotates every week, and I have yet to find one that isn't fantastic (okay, their cherry chip beats them all- but it only appears every few months). The gluten free cupcakes are indescribably delicious- honestly better than "regular" cupcakes that most bakeries sell. They are not dry and flavorless like most- they are absolutely delicious. Much like the cupcakes, the cookie selection also rotates but they always have some staples such as frosted sugar cookies an snickerdoodle (again best ever). Once (and only once) I did have a cookie that was honestly a little over baked, but in a small, essentially home made bakery this is going to happen once in a while. It is DEFINITELY not the norm. I'm not a coffee drinker, but they also now have multiple varieties of espresso/mocha type drinks available as well. As for the staff- simply delightful. Sprinkles of Joy made our wedding unforgettably sweet and memorable and yummy! Every single part of our experience with them was exceptional – from tasting to planning to big day! We trusted Kelly immediately and felt that she listened closely to our ideas and then made them even better. Our wedding cake and assortment of cupcakes and cookies was so much more gorgeous and uniquely tasty than we ever could have imagined! The beautiful display of cake and other items Kelly created literally made us cry when we saw it all for the first time. Our wedding guests devoured every last bite and other vendors we worked with said they enjoyed working with Kelly too. Cute shop, that’s about it. I was looking for some cupcakes for a party. I decided to pop in and try them first before I committed to a large order. I’m glad I did! I got a few of what flavors were available that day and was excited to try them seeing all the 5 star reviews. I was super disappointed. They were very dry almost to the point of being over cooked. They also had a very odd off putting flavor, almost like a “dirty” flavor from something not being clean and reused/contaminated. I used to get my cupcakes from Lambs before they closed and these cupcakes were nothing like what I am used to. I’m not sure if this was the result from a “bad day” or an “off day” or someone helping out but it left a big enough impression to where I don’t know if I will be back.
