Ordered four items online this morning to pickup. We received the typical automated response directing us to pick-up our food. No other directions.
When we arrived to pick up our order (45 minutes later) we find out that you have to check in before Abraham's would start preparing the order. The gentleman I spoke with was incredibly rude and dismissive. He responded by saying "It doesn't matter when you order" and "a lot of people order at once".
I guess my question is: why take online orders? There are a few recent reviews similarly frustrated. If you can't handle the volume of business, perhaps consider eliminating online ordering? At a minimum, being patient with customers when they ask would be a good start. Expecting 4 bagels to be ready after 45 minutes is reasonable in the era of online ordering. Abraham's doesn't even offer the courtesy of instructions after you've placed your order and paid.
Being respectful of your customer's time is a relatively simple task. Just provide the necessary information at the point of sale and/or don't stretch your staff and space too thinly.
Abraham's makes an excellent bagel. They're slammed every morning. I am sure they won't care when they read this review. Despite our decades of patronage, I am sure they won't care that we won't go there anymore. Always happy to wait my turn, but it would have been...
Read moreDelicious bagels, but very poor organization. I ordered a dozen bagels online at 9:15, got a notification that they were ready at 9:30, but stood on line for over an hour on their absolutely mobbed patio. There were people seated at the tables, and then every foot of available space was filled with people waiting for their online order. There were dogs everywhere- at the ends of their leashes, pulling around etc. (I absolutely love pet friendly patios but there wasn’t even enough room for the people.) I understand things being busy on a Sunday morning, but this is not the first time I’ve experienced an absurd wait time and unpleasantly full patio. The woman bringing orders out was definitely overwhelmed, but I had to give her my name three times before I got my order while others were coming and going. My service dog was tucked out of the way, laying down politely in the same spot we’d been standing in for a over an hour and the woman stepped on her, making her scream. A patio full of rude, untrained pet dogs and my perfectly behaved medical equipment gets stepped on. Only then did I actually get my order and was able to leave. I understand it was an accident but what...
Read moreA decent bagel shop. I'm not over the moon about their bagels, but I keep going back so I like it well enough. They are nice and light on the inside, as for the outside I personally want it to be a little crisper/firmer than they currently make them. The contrast between the inside and outside is too close for me. I also am not a huge fan of their breakfast sandwiches which I know is an unpopular opinion around here. Too often I have found it to be dry, particularly the egg, the whole sandwich comes not that warm even when I ask to heat it up, and the cheese is never melted. I like to stick to the standard bagel and cream cheese. The prices have unfortunately went up, especially on the cream cheese so I'd recommend using your own whipped cream cheese from the grocery store. Then you get the good bagel experience with a similar and cost effective cream cheese. It's still a good place to grab breakfast whether on the go or eating on their patio. You can expect a decent line on the weekends, but everyone who works there is nice and they move everyone in and...
