Plume Café — Restaurant in Newburyport

We’ve been coming to plume (formerly soufflés) for almost a decade for iced coffee every morning. While the renovation is beautiful and the baked goods are delicious, the increase in coffee prices and much slower service since the renovation is unfortunate. I ordered a Large regular latte and an Americana. The Americana was weak and the milk in the latte was bad. We paid extra for a shot of espresso just not to make trouble but the milk was bad and quietly let them know the milk was bad and asked for one with almond milk. They came back to showing me the date on the bottle but we all know if the milk is being left out it will go bad sooner than the date on the container. Don’t let the absence of reviews fool you, this place is a gem. From what I can gather, this is a relaunched shop under a new name. Coffee is well made and complemented by delicious pastries.
