Pizza is good no complaints but their systems are terrible!. Called in an order at 17:56. A real person could not speak to me so computer tried to get me to place the same order I placed the last time. I told the computer no 5 or so times (the computer did not understand "no" to the yes or no question). Finally spoke with a person and placed the order which should have been ready in 17 minutes. I arrived to pick up the pizzas and despite calling the location I wanted to PU at, the order was sent somewhere else?? I was never told I was not speaking with the location I called. Should have picked up the pizza at 18:13 and I am still standing here waiting for them to make the pizzas at 18:49 (still waiting).
They comp'd the pizza but.....
Nothing against the folks who work there, they were trying but still.
So the person at the register who told me she was not going to charge me for the pizzas was right, she did not charge me, however, the person who took my order originally, over the phone did. She charged the card we used the last time we placed an order. When I asked again about how much longer they were going to be the gal working at the register told me she was going to refund my money for the order (again), which was curious and this time she handed me a receipt. So, the order had been placed at 17:56 and charged to my card.
The entire experience was just nuts! Here is a thought. Hire real people to take orders at the location called. Stop relying on computer systems to do what people ought to do. People are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love MOD. This is a new location in Newcastle. Our first time. Very nice and helpful employees. Been to many different MODs and this was up there as the best pizza to date. Plenty of cheese. Some locations are more skimpy and you have to almost beg for xtra. This is a great place for family's as well. Very reasonable prices for how terrific the food is. Only like $11 for a big gluten free pizza, loaded with yummy toppings. You just can't get a better deal for a GF crust in a sit down establishment. Was large enough to feed 2 healthy appetites.
UPDATED: at a recent visit we were not as happy with the service or the pizza. There was only one guy making pizza and one guy hanging around the ovens waiting for pizzas to cook and calling out names. We were third in line and the 1st person ordered 4 different pizzas that took forever to make. The drink station area was out of products utensils, peppers etc. Didn't they used to have plastic plates so you can set your food down? The pizza itself was bland and the cauliflower crust was pretty bad. The toppings are pretty skimpy too. The pizza maker seemed flustered probably bc he was alone and busy and keeping people waiting. Not our favorite location. Better when they first opened. 3 stars bc it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love MOD Pizza and were excited to se this location close to our house open. The pizza was good, as always; fresh and tasty. I love their berry lemonade!
Unfortunately they got my order wrong and I didn't realize it until I got my pizza. I'd ordered the extra thick pizza dough, and the paper under my pizza said it was supposed to be that, but it wasn't - thankfully I wasn't charged for the thick dough. I find the thin crust pizza a little less filling, so I wish they'd given me what I asked for. The other issue is that the restaurant was SO VERY COLD! š„¶ For some odd reason, even though it was only 61F outside, they decided to turn on the air conditioning. It was very uncomfortable and made our pizzas cool down even quicker than normal. Restaurants should only turn on the AC when really needed.
We will be back again to this location to try it again. I hope they turn off the AC unless itās actually hot outside!
Feb 2020: We came here on a cold, rainy night. The pizza was excellent, but the cold air blowing on the table we were at was so freezing it made the meal unpleasant. We left with half our food uneaten and went home to eat it. I don't know what is wrong with management at this store and why they refuse to stop the...
