Amazing spot, lived up to the hype. My partner and I have been waiting over a month for a spot, missing it due to scheduling. Seems to be an extremely popular family spot, despite the alcohol. They also have a rotating list of flights and flavors! We went with the hot chocolate flight this time around as we did not care too much for the alcoholic side.
I will be back to try the new smores kits which are pricey, but seem like a fun experience.
White Butter Rum Hot Chocolate - extremely sweet hot chocolate. Topped with salted caramel and cinnamon, there's an extremely strong cinnamon taste. My third favorite flavor here.
Dragonfruit Raspberry White Hot Chocolate - resembling strawberry milk, I didn't quite taste any dragonfruit. Warm strawberry milk that also tastes somewhat like a white chocolate raspberry milkshake if you're familiar with that ice cream flavor. This was my favorite drink.
Mexican Hot Chocolate - definitely packed with spice, there's an aftertaste that's hot in spiciness not just temperature. It was a little unsettling though even though I am familiar with Mexican hot chocolate. Least favorite.
Dutch Hot Chocolate - basically the OG of hot chocolate. Extremely chocolatey. If there's such thing as "too chocolatey," this is it. Second favorite!
These come hot chocolates come with ice cream scoops, but we chose to swap them out in the interest of trying select flavors. Originally, the scoops are salted caramel, white chocolate raspberry, buttered pecan, and cookies and cream. They're matched with the hot chocolates above respectively. The recommended pairings are probably better together, but we enjoyed trying different flavors.
Skagit Valley Strawberry - the best flavor hands down. The strawberry was genuine and pure. It was one of the creamiest strawberry flavors I have had. Best ice cream flavor.
Strawberry Cheesecake - okay this was my least favorite. The strawberry ice cream base tasted vegan like Molly Moon's vegan ice cream and had a strange after taste, not creamy at all. I fully expected this to be my favorite flavor. Hard pass, will not order again.
Ube - for those unfamiliar with ube, Frosty Barrel notes the flavor as "vanilla pistachio." I suppose that's pretty accurate. It's more sweet potato, but can also be described as a nutty vanilla. Ube is generally faint in flavor but the ube here was pure and creamy. Second favorite flavor.
I love Samoas - chocolate, coconut and caramel much like the girl scout cookie. That's what I initially thought about and told my partner who thought it was "I love Smores." The best part of this flavor was the cookie chunks inside and the coconut ice cream was also pretty creamy. My third favorite but partner's second favorite...
Read moreNice little ice cream shop in New Castle. We got the hot chocolate flight with pairings. Comes with 4 hot chocolates and 4 ice cream pairings of the shops choice. Hot chocolate was a traditional hot chocolate, s'mores, ginger, and an apple pie one I think. The ginger was the worst one by far we both hated it but the others were very good. The s'mores being the best, lots of dark chocolate and little char on it.
The 4 ice creams we got were ginger bread, apple pecan, vanilla, and cranberry. Our favorite was the ginger bread, it was so good I highly recommend just getting that ice cream. Vanilla was average, apple pecan was good with large pecans, and cranberry was fine.
I do think this place is a little over hyped due to the decor and location, however they do have some really good ice cream like the ginger bread.
Also very packed and hard to get parking so avoid peak times. Lots of kids as well so if you don't like kids it might be a del breaker.
We will definitely be coming back to try their tipsy hot...
Read moreCute lil place with a nice atmosphere but seating is limited especially in the winter. I’ve been there a few times and had some good ice cream but hadn’t returned since the summer as I was denied service bc I walked in with my dog. I understand not allowing pets but this next time I returned they allowed a customer to sit with their dog inside so that was frustrating.
We ordered food this time and I’d give it 2/10. We ordered a Margarita Flatbread with salad and hot chocolate flights with ice cream. The flatbread was not worth the money.. bland and barely had any cheese on it.
The hot coco flight w ice cream was good tho 8/10. But didn’t come with indicators of the flavors and pairing so we guessed.
I understand a majority of their workers are young but the quality of service is not consistent. I want to support small business but i’m afraid this place isn’t...
