Over the last 7 months, my daughters (10 and 9) have been attending Code Ninja Newcastle and have learned so much! They had zero coding experience before joining and now they’re coding in scratch and java. Most importantly they are having so much fun!
From my 10 year old “Code Ninja is amazing. I love how they give me independence to learn myself and are always there to help if I need it. I like the “Prove yourself” challenges where I get to code all by myself. The Sensei (instructors) are very knowledgeable and welcoming and make coding fun. Read moreI love that the pace of learning is good, my coder advancing without feeling like she's being 'schooled". The Sensei concept is great as it infers respect, but isn't like an instructor, it lets the learners know that they are on a path to success. To be honest, my kid likes that the Sensei is a younger person, as they are way more cool than a 'grown up'. (Sorry to the over 25 crowd, we're not cool anymore.) We're in online classes and the team/group work has been fun for my stuck-at-home kid. The team at our local studio have been wonderful to work with, and have been helpful during rare scheduling conflicts. Code Ninja has been one of the bright constants during our stay...

Code Ninjas is a great way to get your child involved with and interested in coding at a young age. By making games, ninjas learn strong programming/design fundamentals that can eventually be translated into other programs. The senseis being mostly high school/college students helps break down the teacher/student barrier and foster learning.
