Every time I have visited Ming Palace I have enjoyed the food and the service. Yesterday we needed some comfort food due to bad news and this place fit the bill with the family style dining and the complimentary tea that they serve. The servings are huge, delicious, and fresh. Yesterday we ordered all new dishes to try and the Roast Pork and shrimp dumpling soup stole the show for all of us. The shrimp dumplings were fantastic. For an entree I ordered the roast duck which was perfect, mom had the General Tso, and my daughter tried the Shrimp with Black Bean sauce. They are very reasonably priced and there is plenty of parking.

The food is OK. I work in the Area so ordered take out both times. The "best" part about both meals was the rice it's simple and not very flavorful so make sure you use your favorite soy sauce. Kind of goes down hill from there for me. Wonton soup was not good. The wontons very soggy and the broth was greasy with no flavor. General Tsou's Chicken overly breaded and nothing Hot or Spicy about it. Next up boneless spareribs dryer then I would like but flavor was ok. The person that took my order was was pleasant. Food was fast and I was helped a soon as I arrived he was all very nice. The price was reasonable.

NOT GOOD. We have been going to this place for over 15 years and never had an issue until we ordered takeout this evening. The General Tsao’s chicken is hard, over breaded, and basically empty. It made me feel sick shortly after attempting to eat about a 1/3 of my food. Rice was bland and the crab rangoon not even stuffed just hard pieces. I don’t know what happened to this place. We used to eat lunch here 1x a week. Too expensive to get not good food.

I happened to come across a review of One (1) star by an apparent disgruntled customer from a week ago. I've been going to this restaurant for several years. Its family owned and these people go out of their way for superior customer service.

  1. "The owner called the police" - why was that? Was the owner threatened by the writer of the review or others?
  2. Any one that uses a charge / debit card knows the order from the computer to the card processor produces the receipt for what was charged to the register. If the charge was $17.48 & the individuals credit card company charged a different amount, the problem is with the card company or the users use of the card.
  3. If the owner / manager "wasted" food it was because the order that was likely made as soon as it hit the kitchen had to be thrown out due to the cancellation within "5" minutes.
  4. The question is begged - Why did this credit card user call the card company to verify the charge? It suggests that this may have happened to this user in the past. There would be no logical reason to verify a small simple charge such as $17.48.
  5. The receipt produced by the stores credit processor can only reflect the original charge. A duplicate could easily have been printed for this customer. Seems the store manager / owner did the right thing holding on to the original for the police authorities to review. Had he given the original receipt, it may well have been destroyed by the complainant.
  6. Why would the store refund more money than what was charged to the complainants card? It is illogical. This complaint is highly unjustified for this 4-5 Star...

Seriously HORRIBLE service the manager was so disrespectful not to mention he called the police because he states my bill was 17.48 and over charged me to 21.84 and advised me to call my bank as I did and filed a complaint towards my bank fraud department. Completely disrespectful and dishonest stating he “wasted food” When I had called 5 minutes prior to order and cancelled the order because of the dishonesty and the “I don’t care” statement he continued to make. Mocked me in front of my family and would not let me see a statement of my receipt until the police arrived as to when they did arrive his whole attitude changed. I asked to speak to the owner and the manager did not want to call him because he didn’t feel the need to but the police advised me to call in tomorrow and ask to speak with the owner of the place. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a manager I wanted my refund of exactly what he took out of my card and he would not give me my full payment back. I wouldn’t waste my time with this place the management is horrible and although I didn’t get to taste the food I’m...

Can’t comment much on the atmosphere other than it’s a dimly lit interior. I ordered take out. The yang chow fried rice had zero flavor. I mean it was just crumply dry rice with no flavor AT ALL. Make sure to put soy sauce in it or you’ll just be eating crumply dry rice. But that’s not why I’m posting, it’s because they don’t include so much as a frikin fork in your order. How in the hell do they expect me to eat my food if I don’t have anything to eat it with!!? Third time they’ve done that to me, get all the way back to the hotel just to realize that they did me dirty again. Thankfully the hotel is staff was kind enough each time to provide me with utensils. I’m convinced that this isn’t by accident, they’re just too cheap to include eating utensils! Also the following morning I had some major stomach pain like I’ve never had in my entire life (that’s a pretty long time) and major runs lol!! I’m pretty sure that it was the moo shoo pork because that was the only thing I finished the night before, I couldn’t eat the crumply flavorless fried...
