Thankfully this isn't a post for my own personal experience, but it's still worth sharing. You wouldn't expect something as simple and easy as pizza to be botched, especially when the business is in a newport beach boutique plaza.
Boyfriend and coworker went there for lunch yesterday. Boyfriend has a picky pallette but coworker would enjoy anything, thanks to his people pleasing, low maintenance nature. Coworker and boyfriend both noticed something off: the pizza tasted old, the cheese had a weird, dried out texture, and definitely would not be something you'd enjoy cold. The meat was hard and dry, the whole pizza tasted bland and needed copious amounts of parm to eat.
By dinner time by boyfriend was complaining of stomach aches and rumbling. He woke after drinking tons of pepto to discomfort, more pepto, and irregular, painful, forceful but unsatisfying bowel movements. Unless this sounds fun to you..
Most reviews for this business are fantastic which is why it was picked for lunch.. but little Ceasars tastes better...
Read moreSeriously the best pizza around. SoCal is in desperate need of real pizza, and finally this place appeared and filled that void. I used to have my favorite places that used to be "almost as good as the pizza back east" ... but this place, IS as good as the pizza back east.
Plus, the service is truly top notch.Tonight, on a rainy cold monday evening, their internet was apparently down all day and they were not taking orders (even their phone system is tied to their internet and was out). But I didn't know that, and I ordered online. When I went in, the dude looked at my receipt on my phone, made all parts of my order right there fresh, and told me they'd be paid when the internet comes back on (I gave him my contact info as a "just in case" but I'm sure once they're back online, they'll see my payment came through). Great food, great service,...
Read moreThese guys much like myself love pizza. As a self dubbed pizza snob. There are few places that sell “good pizza” in California. The pizza bakery is 1 of 3 pizzerias I’ve tried in California that makes “great pizza”! If you’re in town or just live nearby you’re lucky. Ed & his crew not only make pizza that impresses me but the crew is personable & from time to time have given out some really good free garlic knotts (the soft kind, make sure to ask for sauce to dip em in).
The pizza has a lotta heart to it that I can only say makes it special. It’s the kind of pizza that I imagine the Kristy Krab pizza to taste like, & it’s definitely the pizza for you and me.
If you’re thinking about stopping in for a slice stop thinking go get one. Hope you enjoy their pizza as...
