Pepper Pod Restaurant — Restaurant in Newport

Visited for the first time recently on a Sunday morning with some friends. Best part of the experience was a $35 tab for a table of 4. Everything else however was disappointing. Obvious issue for many folks will be the smoke. You'll smell it with or without people actively smoking and you'll sure smell like it once you've left. Entire restaurant is yellow, badly dated, and questionably clean. Got to enjoy a scene of two men smoking in the kitchen while headed to the bathroom which also had a busted door lock. It may not matter to some where the smoke is coming from, but having it openly done in the kitchen is very negligent.

The service in our case was poor, but there were new servers still training evidently and things were busy with to-go orders. Still waited nearly 40 minutes until someone took our order or even came to refill drinks. Was a bit frustrating given that we were at the front booth immediately next to the register. It's tough times for service staff, so I'll give a pass there.

The food was impressively bland and conservatively portioned. I suppose I'm getting my money's worth. After over an hour of sitting in second-hand smoke, we ate in 5 minutes and left as quickly...

This restaurant had a look and feel too it, very much similar to the look and feel of just being in Waffle House. The interior design of the restaurant (with the center LARGE kitchen island surrounded on all sides by the customer seating section) very oddly resembled that of Waffle House's as well. All of the waiters and waitresses seemed to be moving fast, attending to all of the customer's needs at a timely pace. The kitchen staff had a good communication lime open with the on line servers. (By the way, in case you didn't know, this is actually a restaurant prioritized to that of the menu of a typical American breakfast, I know the name "Pepper Pod" doesn't really hint at breakfast too much, unless you're talking about putting some peppers in an omelette, than you can definitely count me in to this restaurant, and is very deserving of a five 🌟 rating! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who just wants to have an affordable, but delicious, wholesome breakfast out...

I've been there twice in a month with my wife and each time we have gone they have kind of been out of food and there's only one server. I got there three-way but it was more like a two-way because it was extremely very little chili on my three-way and last month when I came at 6:00 at night they were out of Chili and my wife wanted some liver and onions and they were out of it too and this time when we went this time she got a sub sandwich,after that she told the next people that they were out of sandwiches which tells me they don't supply the food that they need all the time because this isn't the first or second time this has happened to my family or friends. The atmosphere here is very nice. Even though but I normally don't give a bad review, I honestly probably won't go back for a long time because they need to straighten out some of their services, like enough food maybe a couple more servers because they used to have at least...
