I've been coming to Reset Bicycle Outfitters for a few years now. Most of my experiences there have been very positive. However, this past Friday evening was not so positive. My interaction with Ryan left me feeling as if I were intruding on his social time. Granted, my visit there occurred a little late - around 7 p.m. But, they weren't scheduled to close until 8 pm. As I approached, Ryan was socializing outside with others who appeared to be friends of his. He greeted me by asking if I was there to visit the bike shop. That seemed odd because I'm not sure why anyone would otherwise visit a bike shop on a Friday night. Even though I felt arkward at that point, I explained I had called earlier and was there to pick my repaired bike and a previously ordered bike rack. He asked if my name was Andrew; to which I responded by asking if his name was Ryan - I had spoken to him earlier on the phone. Again, I received an odd response. "I am..., or maybe I'm Matt depending on how I feel." He didn't laugh and neither did any of his friends. So, I stood there just looking around trying to figure out if he were joking. At that point I remember thinking to myself all I wanted to do was get my new bicycle rack put in my car, put my repaired bike on it, and leave. Ryan walked in the store. I followed him as he retrieved my bike rack and put it on my vehicle. He did not say anything the whole time. I thought that was odd, also. Then, I noticed another uncomfortably odd thing had happened. Ryan never explained how to attached or remove the rack. It has a key and lock and it was dark outside. As he then began walking back inside, I asked you if I should follow him? He replied, "Yeah." So, maybe I should point out I was spending over $700 for a bicycle rack that evening and I really feel as though some good customer service were in order at that point. I never received that. Instead, when we got back inside the store, he handed me off to a very nervous, but friendly, employee, who I later found out was named Matt. Ryan never explained to me that what I needed. Nor to Matt. Ryan just walked away and rejoined his friends outside. The oddly uncomfortable interactions continued. Matt was struggling to do his very best and appeared nervous. But he was courteous and thorough. Although, he did charged me twice for the bike rack and did not realize I was there to pick up my repaired bicycle, he corrected this once I explained what Ryan did not. Matt also showed me how to attach my bike to the rack and how to lock and unlock the bike rack. As I said, he was extremely helpful! I really appreciated his interaction. All this to say: I think I deserve to be valued as a long-standing customer who is spending a lot of money at Reser Bicycle Outfitters. It seems...
Read moreTo begin, I regret that I can only leave 5 stars as I wish I could leave 10! I have been a customer of Reser for several years - I have purchased clothing, shoes, a Kuat bike rack, and most recently, an S-Works Aethos. The staff, headed by the very capable Gabe, is knowledgeable on all manner of cycling - road, gravel, mountain, commuter, as well as touring. Questions you may have will be answered with no BS or speculation. Should you need something not currently in stock, Gabe, Michael, John, Alex, et all, will do their best to acquire it ASAP.
In addition to the retail side, I have had my bikes serviced by Andreas and the crew. They are an excellent group of guys who know their stuff and will do your repairs to your satisfaction. Regardless of the bike, they treat both you and your bike with care and respect.
I recently purchased my Aethos through Reser. Every step of the process - consultation, fitting, ordering, and build was terrific. It seems like everyone in the shop wanted to make this a great experience!
One of the many things I enjoy about Reser is their embrace of community and their surroundings. From the coffee shop vibe (quality espresso, btw) to the welcome that local bike owners receive when they enter the shop is appreciated by customers as well as those members of the community who may not have the funds for a new ride, but simply need a tube for the bike they need for transportation.
If you are in need of a bike, a tube, clothing, or simply a coffee, please stop by Reser Outfitters. You will not be...
Read moreMy bike needed a tuneup and Reser offered a deal on their website so I made an appointment and delivered my bicycle to the shop. When I arrived I mentioned that I was also interested in an accessory to carry a bag. Shortly after, I received a text message with the estimate and it included the additional item that I requested a quote on. I replied to confirm that I wanted them to proceed and mentioned the deal from their website. They honored the discount. Within a couple of days, the service was complete and I received a text message with instructions on the daily business hours so that I could pick my bike up within three days. I must say that it was the most efficient transaction I can remember having. I especially appreciated the wonderful customer service when I went to pick up my bicycle and was interested in an additional bike accessory. Then, when I asked for some advice about the height of the bike seat, I received a very generous response as well. If anyone is looking to get their bike ready for bike season, trust me when I say that you will not find a better experience! During check out, they even reviewed their findings during the tuneup which explained why I had noticed prior issues with the chain. I’ve always heard the saying “you get what you pay for.” Today, I received...
