We actually left without going in. Signage was a confusing mess, it was unclear where people were supposed to go. I also never figured out the differences between the different "experiences" (like general vs RIP) and there was nothing to explain. Parking was an adventure. We wound up a 12 minute walk away, and had to walk in the dark road, around buses too large for the street, past a bunch if really weird and creepy people hanging out in a park after dark, and by an odd, unkept man just hanging around, loitering near the cars. After asking where to purchase tickets, we were directed to a massive, unmoving line with more switchbacks than a mountain. The lines to actually enter the haunt appeared empty, though it was nearly 9pm, and there were several hundred people standing in line for tickets. The regular ticket booth was so far away as to appear microscopic, but the Will Call booth for those with online passes was devoid of people and right next to the empty entry lines. In a fit if inspiration, we whipped out our phones to try and purchase an online ticket, so we could proceed to Will Call and skip the non moving mass of humanity. Trying to check out, the online service issued a strong warning not to hit the Buy button under any circumstances, unless you would be able to print. No phone vouchers would be issued; only physically printed paper would be accepted. Incredulously complaining about this out loud, because such a policy would be stupid beyond reason, several others in the non moving line confirmed that they had asked, being struck with similar inspiration, and were told only printed paper vouchers would be accepted by Will Call to receive your tickets and enter the haunt. 15 minutes in and we hadn't moved a foot. Staring at the sea of stationary humans that would have taken 2+ hours to get through before even buying a pass, we said "eff this" and hiked back to the car. Which was its own scary attraction, because the odd man lurking around the cars was still there, as were the shady people in the park. There were even pop outs in the form of terrible drivers doing stupid things to get around each other on a too-small road. Long story short, if you really want to go, buy and print tickets beforehand, and carpool, because there's little parking and you'll feel unsafe...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed. We travel to several haunts each season in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio and hit the best rated in the area. First off we were in the fast pass line and waited for about 2 hours despite being told by the ticket salesperson that it was about a 30 minute wait. That is too far off the mark for them not to know they were feeding us a line of you know what. The fast pass did in fact move a lot quicker than the standard line but in my opinion was not worth that kind of the wait for what we experienced. We happened to be there on their "Captain's Extreme Tour" night because we were in the area. That tour was the only option for that night. Personally, I feel it did not justify the added expense and certainly did not improve or enhance the tour. I think it actually detracted from the overall experience. The dirty language and innuendo did not make anything more dramatic or scary. Performers touching and pushing me around did not enhance my visit nor did it increase my fear factor. There were several areas that we were told that to continue a member of the party had to kiss a prop such as a live snake or a fake pigs head. I am not what you would call a germaphobe but I damn sure do not want to put my lips on anything that a dozen or more people have been previously slobbering on that night. Another similar event was that you had to "take a load" of something in your mouth from a syringe of the nurse before your party would be allowed to continue. The possibility of someone having an allergic reaction is the actual scary thing about that. There was a bathroom scene where a performer wiped something like chocolate syrup or pudding on people's faces and or clothes. Sorry, but that is not scary, just nasty. The ship itself is a great environment and has a natural fear factor that I feel was left untapped. I would love to see that expanded on and explored. There were several very good, expensive, interactive props. There were a decent amount of performers but they were not being effectively implemented. The tour itself was longer than the average haunt. I really wanted to like this haunt more that I...
Read moreVisited 10/21/17 at around 10:15PM. This was our first ever visit to the USS Nightmare so we were excited. We waited 30 minutes just to purchase tickets, when we got to the ticket booth, we were greeted by a lady holding a cell phone in front of her face paying no attention “how are you guys tonight” very professional. When we asked for the $20 general admission passes they had “just sold out” and only had the $30 passes left. The lady was very unprofessional and got very rude with us for asking a simple question her response “ as I just told the couple in front of you, the $20 general admission is sold out” and proceeds to hold her hand out for our money. After waiting in line 30 minutes to meet the rude lady at the ticket desk. We got to wait another 2 hours in a 2nd line to just get in the boat. Complete joke and a waste of time. Would not recommend anyone to give their money to this shit show. Oh yeah, NO REFUNDS is posted on the ticket windows so once you get in the 2-3hr wait line you’re stuck. As far as the boat goes, it was far from a haunted attraction this was a real “nightmare” the way...
