Wendy's — Restaurant in Newport

Very VERY disappointed with my visit tonight. Im pregnant with some serious cravings for Wendy's potatoes. It was almost 11 pm when we went thru the drive thru. We ordered 3 sour cream and chive baked potatoes with butter and liquid cheese on them. 3 double stacks a small chili, and 4 Jr bacon cheeseburgers. (The SAME order we got the day before minus the Jr bacons and chili. Which was ON POINT at that visit. This why I wanted it a second day in a row.... THANK YOU DAY SHIFT!!!) When ordering the liquid cheese on the potatoes at the speaker, the girl taking the order laughed on the speaker, I guess for not requesting cheese sauce instead of liquid cheese, when we paid, and the potatoes were handed out the window first, SURPRISE!! NO CHEESE... We told the girl taking orders and she seemed annoyed and said there's no cheese on them?? We showed her they had no cheese and we were handed 3 small black to go ramekins of cheese sauce not even halfway full. Nowhere near the same amount as the day before, which I would have gladly paid for the amount I thought I was getting. The girl kept putting her head and half of her body halfway out the window talking about how many customers they had... There were 2 cars behind us. Not too bad considering there was 6 cars ahead of us when we entered the line. We get our food, eager to get home and eat my potato, even tho my bf gave me his cheese sauce and it still didn't equal what one potato had the day before, and we had NO SOUR CREAM, NO BUTTER, NO UTENSILS TO EAT THE POTATOES WITH, NO NAPKINS, and one of the 4 Jr bacon cheeseburgers had bacon but one bun was hard as a rock. Not to mention potatoes colder than normal for having to hold them out the window to prove there was no cheese on them....C'mon night shift.... I know yaw can do better bc I just came the day before. Johnny Mitchell handed my food to me and it was fresh, hot, and on point with everything I had asked for. Tonight was a huge disappointment. I felt rushed and not cared about what was put in my bag. If the ppl handing the food out and taking the orders don't care, then do the ones in the kitchen care?? I've heard a few ppl talk about there being no adults working and a bunch of kids just acting out and trying to run a store, and now I can believe that. Step it up bc seems to me day shift has it together and night shift is just rude and don't care about you, just cares about the line moving. I work in a restaurant, I know how it is when you get busy, and this was not busy....

The baked potatoes were old and disgusting. I requested two loaded baked potatoes and it had chili, broccoli, bacon, chives, cheese on it purely disgusting. The potato itself was a yellowish orange from where not was so old. This is the second visit in a lil over a wks time that the experience was lacking. The first time that I went was reported to their helpline. On both occasions, the lid to their ice was open (through drive-thru) which opens it up to contamination, they used their bare hands and the cup to scoop the ice instead of an ice scoop which is a safety violation, the first time the worked had acrylic nails and that opens up the possibility of contamination even more. Everything I got the first time was cold and unfit to eat from sandwiches to fries. The second time the potatoes were by far the worse part of the meal but the rest of the food left things to be desired. It's obvious they don't care or changes would have been made after the first complaint. It's sad that you go and spend your hard earned money and get slop served to you. I can say it will be a long time before I go back and try again. I was hoping they had addressed the issue because I received a call back after the first complaint (that I missed but all the details were in the online complaint) that is why I gave it another try. We have tried dining in at this location for two days in a row. We was informed on our second day of trying to eat there that they wanted to wait a few minutes to take our order so they don’t send too much back. It made no We had two guests in front of us in line. What’s crazy is they had so many workers there and they was all just putting forth minimal effort. While waiting we noticed the manager McKenzie just chatting it up with the fellas at the window as they strung out a line of curse words for the guests to hear. Sadly she was very much part of the conversation. We even heard her discussing another employee’s performance with those two young boys that was cussing. That place was a bunch of young people with no adult supervision. As if that wasn’t mouth dropping enough I actually saw her do not one thing work related while waiting there. After all of that and the fact that we was standing there waiting to still give our order this is what made us choose to leave. The corner under the sanitary buckets had several bugs in it. I tried for a good minute to figure out what they was but sorry no bugs should be just laying in the floor where you prepare food. Y’all can do better!
